yeah there's a fair bit to learn before jumping in at that level that has nothing to do with schemes or even techniques. Managing time, practices, personalities, learning what sort of assistants work best for you and why, on and on. Sure he'll know the Xs and Os, and I'm sure he'd be a hit with the media wherever he went, and might initially even recruit well. But there's a lot of stuff we don't see as fans that you need to know how to do, for yourself, before you're a head man in the bigtime. As a QBs coach I'd snap him up in a heartbeat. But a head man has a LOT on his plate.
