Stick a finger in your eye..........I hate Utah after they effectively killed the Pac-12 (10). I can't find a clear video of the play itself. The one in the other thread is too fuzzy.

By the rule, it looked like holding. Did it affect the play? Probably not, since the QB was trying to avoid the dog pile almost immediately.

How do you figure Utah killed the PAC? They were the final holdout of the 4 corner schools.

Yeah, it seems like Utah wanted to keep the Pac together. When it came apart they grabbed a seat. Same things we would have done if offered.

I find Utah to be the most forgivable of the schools who left. They were certainly among the most vocal in trying to stop the 4 traitors (USC, UCLA, UW, UO), and among the last to leave.

That said, we are now the PAC 2, 7, 8...and counting.

And the play in question was probably defensive holding. There has been at least one more video that has appeared, and it looks like holding. It is also clear that it had no impact at all on the play itself.

Utah and ASU were two schools that did not want the conference to blow up. Neither really wanted to leave. Once the uw and Oregon left, and the TV contract imploding with them, they felt they had no choice but to accept the offer from the Big 12.

C'mon guys. Utah's President and some dipshit Utah professor are the ones that talked the Pac-soon-to-be-10 to highball ESPN and seek to negotiate their $30M media offer, as said professor thought the Pac was worth $50M without FUCLA/FUSC. ESPN promptly said "see ya" and offered the same deal to the Big-12, which they snapped up. That was the death of the Pac.

Pretty sure that was Arizona, but I don’t know that it’s ever been confirmed

He did have a point and it’s refreshing to hear someone hold referees accountable vs taking the “I don’t want to get fined” road. I didn’t watch the game but sounded like there were multiple questionable calls.

We dealt with this nonsense for years in the P12. I believe the head official in that game was a former P12 guy and I remember him being in the middle of a few controversial calls.

It’s infuriating at this level and the NFL to have such inconsistency with game changing calls…PI, roughing the passer, targeting, etc. this is a billion dollar industry, these should be full time jobs and there should be accountability for poor performance.

Not trying to change the direction of this thread but just saw this. Chiefs, which most people who’ve watched their games agree they frequently get “help”. This was a third down where broncos were up 14-3 and Mahomes was in the process of taking a sack to knock them out of FG range. Absolutely nothing here, a complete phantom call that had zero outcome on the play. The “contact” which was nothing, was when Mahomes is already being sacked. No NFL fan wants to see a flag like this for something marginal at best that has no impact on the play, yet chiefs go on to score a TD here and this one play likely changes the final outcome of this defensive game. Refs need to stay the F out of the way and let the players decide the games. Nobody pays to attend/watch games to see flags come out for shit like this. Same applies to the play w Utah/BYU.

1. it should have been more

2. Wittingham should have been fined for throwing a chair during the press conference, too.

Utah was good enough to lead the game late but in the end, they Coug’d it. They snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

They edited out Whit throwing the chair on their published YouTube presser.

People are calling Harlan to be fired. Here's the video showing everything, including Coach Wit throwing the chair.

What I didn't know, is that Utah has lost 5 games in a row!

And even though Utah does not have an exit fee, they won't come back to the Pac-12, because it looks like our alleged 2026 TV Deal with ESPN2 and ESPN+ will be somewhere between $8M-$10M, which is a significant blow from the desired $15M.

Welcome to the G5.

Where are you hearing we are getting an $8-10M deal?

Read what I said in the other thread. WSU, OSU, PAC 12, Octagon(#1 consulting firm that gets awesome deals), is probably just doing serious talking to, discussions, negotiating with ESPN, FOX. ESPN, FOX, are probably hoping that WSU, OSU, PAC 12, Octagon take the 8-10 mil, which ESPN, FOX knows is NOT enough to get Memphis, Tulane, USF, UTSA. And ESPN, FOX probably does not want Gonzaga included, because they know that Gonzaga, would probably bump the number from 8-10 mil up to 11-13 mil per team, per year. And ESPN, FOX knows that Memphis, Tulane, USF, UTSA, best of the AAC, probably bumps up the number from 8-10 mil to 12,13,14,15,16,17,18 mil per team, per year, which ESPN, FOX, the cheapskates, do NOT want to pay, and only want to pay the cheapskate 8-10 mil that not good enough to get Memphis.

Meanwhile, WSU, OSU, PAC 12, Octagon, are hopefully, probably are counter offering, want 12,13,14,15,16,17,18 mil per team, per year, and if ESPN, FOX does not agree then they, PAC 12, Octagon probably, hopefully shop around, probably do a piecemeal, combined media deal with CW, TNT, Prime Video, CBS, Apple, NBC, ABC, Netflix, Hulu, Streaming, TV, PAC 12 enterprises production, studio, that would be a 13,14,15,16,17,18 mil per team, per year media deal, for BSU, Memphis, Tulane, USF, Fresno St, SDSU, UTSA, Gonzaga, WSU, OSU, CSU, Utah St.

ESPN, FOX want a exclusive media deal for 8-10 mil for cheap, that does not include Memphis, Gonzaga, that would not be enough to get Memphis anyways, because they(ESPN, FOX), are cheap, do not want PAC 12 to recover, get Memphis, wants PAC 12 to die, does not want PAC 12 to maybe challenge Big 10, SEC someday, far off into future, and so want to kill the PAC 12, to prevent that, and that why ESPN, FOX, want to do a LOWBALL, CHEAP, EXCLUSIVE media deal offer with PAC 12, that only 8-10 mil per team, per year, that probably wont get Memphis, Tulane, USF, UTSA, that probably won't include Gonzaga, Memphis.

Your so called ESPN, FOX DEAL IS NOT A DONE DEAL, AND IS STILL IN THE DISCUSSION, NEGOTIATING STAGE.

Hopefully, Probably the PAC 12, Octagon, is not stupid enough to do the 8-10 mil per team, per year, LOWBALL, CHEAP, RIPOFF FOR PAC 12, that does not include Gonzaga, Memphis, etc, exclusive media deal with ESPN, FOX, that probably won't include Gonzaga, Memphis, where PAC not get Memphis, etc, and hopefully, Probably the PAC 12, Octagon are smart enough to shop around, do a piecemeal, combined media deal with CW, TNT, Prime Video, CBS, Apple, NBC, ABC, Netflix, Hulu, streaming, TV, PAC 12 enterprises production studio, that 13,14,15,16,17,18 mil per team, per year for BSU, Memphis, Tulane, Fresno St, SDSU, USF, UTSA, WSU, OSU, CSU, Utah St, instead of a LOWBALL, CHEAPSKATE, exclusive 8-10 mil per team per year media deal, with ESPN, FOX, that doesn't include Gonzaga, Memphis, etc.

Dollar amounts floating around from various sources now can safely be considered to be click bait.

We'll know the result when we know the result. That may be a while.
