UW OC

Nice hire if he goes to UW. I think it would be hard to turn down working under Mike McCarthy as OC. But the UW OC job is one that can propel you too.

Interesting. IMO he’d need to have his options exhausted in the NFL, before he’d make that move...and if that’s the case (he can’t get an NFL job) I wouldn’t be concerned about him going to UW- there’s some piss poor/underachieving offenses in the NFL right now.

He has Dak Prescott, Zeke, Cooper, Witten, one of the best offensive lines in football and they lost 8 games. Don’t know if he’s the offensive guru that people think he is.

What has he done that makes him an offensive guru at this point is a very good point. He may well be the new innovator, but I looked at times where Dak looked confused, plays weren't called in on time, didn't seem well sequenced. I never saw a rhythm with their offense, but I didn't watch every game either. .

This . He is basically a coach in training. It would not be a bad development for WSU in the least if he went to UW where he would not have a zero support system (like Garrett or McCarthy) and a first time head coach with zero offensive background.

Unless Petersen dipped in to help him ( which he might) he would be very a work in progress.

I hate both the Cowboys and the Mutts, but I can't understand why any man w/out a head injury would pick Montlake over Dallas. Of course, maybe Moore has been imbibing on $4.99 Hogue Cellars Gewürztraminer (which would obviously be in conflict with the tradition of the Honks quaffing Zimas).

Nah...he would be a moron to quit the Cowboys to take the same position with the Mutts.

Dallas has a top 5 scoring offense in the NFL, it's their defense that has the issues. A couple of offensive tweaks and they could be on of the best offenses in the league. They really need help on the Defensive side of the ball.

I think a bigger concern might be his motivation if he transitions from the Dallas Cowboys back to college. You're talking about going from the mecca of professional football in terms of fanfare and attention down to a P12 North coordinator.

It was just way too early for him to be an OC in the pros. I was shocked.

Take a peek who they play twice a year. Also, some of their losses...Saints the cowboys scored 10. Packers the cowboys scored 24, Jets the cowboys scored 22, Vikings the cowboys scored 24, Patriots the cowboys scored 9, Bills the cowboys scored 15, Bears the cowboys scored 24, Eagles the cowboys scored 9. It seems like a mixed bag and not sure how it translates to college.

Not sure how great of an X's and O's guy he'd be. Recent NFL experience sells well on the recruiting trail though. Hard to believe he wouldn't be able to bring in enough talent to have an average offense even with suboptimal game planning.

I certainly don't see him as a downgrade to Hamden. But who knows, I didn't see the Huskies playing worse on offense after Smith left either.

I'm not that worried about him being a great OC, really, but I do worry about that being a very good hire in terms of recruiting. The more ex-NFL coaches you have on staff, especially if they aren't just a past-his-prime retread, the more they can tout that out on the trail and can purport to know what NFL teams look for, to get players ready, etc. It also seems likely he at least is competent, which--when coupled with a UW defense that likely will remain quite good under Lake and Kwiatkowski--means continued difficulty for us.

I played against Kellen, and his brother, both coached under his dad Tom. They are incredibly smart football minds. Make no mistake his dad was good enough to make the jump to college had he wanted to, and Kellen would be someone I would never want UW to have on staff, wether or not he had a mediocre initial stint in the NFL.

Mc Carthy threw his former staff under the bus to save his butt. Odd hire. Dallas is a mess. Moore needs to bail and likely will.

I'd like Moore to stay in Dallas, if he went to the UW, he might actually help Jimmy win more games than I think he will.
