Mike Leach dipped back into Texas tonight, snagging a commitment from his former home as Lubbock (TX) Cooper 2017 safety Ty Thomas verbally committed to the Cougars this evening.
Thomas, a 5-foot-11, 195-pound safety prospect, picked up an offer from Washington State on Monday, he announced on his Twitter account. He tells WazzuWatch.com that he called Coach McGuire earlier tonight to give him the good news.

Thomas joins fellow defensive back Tayari Venable ouit of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., as verbal commitments in the 2017 class. This is the earliest Washington State has had multiple verbal commitments in a future recruiting class since Mike Leach has been on campus.
