a guy that everyone was drooling over as a defensive coordinator when he was at Illinois and had a top 10 defense- is now available. No longer a hot commodity as North Carolina is currently rated 115th in defense. Now...becoming the DC at Troy St (not kidding) is a possibility according to all the sources available to CoachesScoop. The coaching world is often times as unpredictable as the stock market.


Also, on the heels of someone from the previous coaching staff being fired...is Jody Sears getting a contract extension after Sacramento St went 7-5 this year. Congrats to Jody.

A decent but not brilliant coach can look great with exceptional talent and pretty bad with little talent or key injuries.
I suppose that is why I'm more reluctant than many to start firing coaches. I slowly came to the conclusion that Leach needed to fire Breske only because they continued to give up the big plays even as some of the young players gained more experience.

I would like to see us hire an up and comer who has had some experience dealing with modern spread offenses. Oregon and Arizona in particular come to mind.
