Yep. It had been rumored that he was out for the season. I guess this confirms it, unfortunately. He was such a fun player to watch. I hope he has a full recovery and is back playing next season with the Cougs or in the NBA.

I am amazed how well WSU is playing with the injuries we have had this season. We have seen teams fall apart with one key injury. The Cl-W injury last year is an example. I just love watching this team play.

Yeah, we are still a really good team. We still have so many can score it but the defense is improving. We are a really tough out.

Up 30--13 w/ under 7 in the 1st half.

The refs are calling it tighter this half, for some reason.

Their press is working for BSU. Not for turnovers, but it has slowed down the game. Our offense has not been as free flowing as it had been.

The refs have been consistent about not calling an offense foul, but a foul against the defense instead.

Think we'll see the press a ton more this year? They have to figure out how to both break it and get into their offense.

My power went out in the 2nd half. So did the Coug's. Observer should hit the numbers on Power Ball. We lost focus, sloppy with the ball, had 10 turnovers and could have been more (that was definitely a carry on Watts even if they rarely call it anymore).

Glad to get out of there with a win!

We were comfortable not attacking it and it almost cost us the game. Not only do we miss Coward, but I think Wilson would have really helped a lot.

Nice and hard win against a very good opponent. I don't think luck had anything to do with it. Overall, the Cougs were the better team. If the Cougars were healthy, I don't think that BSU makes this comeback. Unfortunately, our best player is out for the season. It will help when Wilson and Wynott come back. Not sure how serious that wrist injury is to Vavers and if he can come back this season or is he done as well?

It was a carry on Watts. But it makes up for the missed kicked ball on the Watts pass earlier.

Kenpom now as the Cougs 72nd (up from 82nd before the game). Kenpom still has Boise State higher than the Cougs at 53rd. Kenpom also has two other teams that the Cougars beat rated higher: Nevada 46th and Bradley 68th.

Bart Torvik has us 64th, with Nevada 42nd, BSU 62nd, and Bradley 68th.

Of course, there are still games being played and by the end of the night, there could be some movement.

I get Boise and Nevada, but Bradley? Only loss is to us but they haven't exactly played a tough schedule otherwise. They are typically winning by a lot which matters to the stat based models.

Just like last year, keep winning and things will take care of itself.

Other good new is that the uw lost to USC by 24 in Seattle. They lost earlier in the week by 11 to UCLA in LA. Weird schedule in the Big Ten splitting the games between home and the road.

Watch a bit of dub/SC. SC shot 70% in the 1st half (80+ on 2s). Need to get the next 3. Glad we have a week to rest legs. Starters all went 30+ today. Hopefully Wynott is at least back to provide some additional depth.

We need to NOT use Lejuan as one of the press breakers. His ball handling isn’t good enough and he’s loose with the ball. He should be finishing.

Flash Erickstrap to the middle, hit the wings and go. There’s no urgency to make the pressing team pay. It’s easiest to score against heavy pressure like BSU was applying.

We are going to have problems with soft pressure. Gonzaga runs a 3/4 court press that will give the Cougs fits.

I would like to see Wilson back for some ball handling. Anyone know what happened to him?>
I have not heard. He became the backup point guard to Calmese and has been missed. When Calmese is out of the game, the offense has often stalled. When Calmese is out, there is not real point guard. It is usually a combination of both Watts.
