Thursday night @ #23 Colorado, 7 pm PT on Pac12.

The short bench is going to make this a tough one but if Cougs play D like they have been and turn the ball over 8 times like they did against OSU, anything is possible.

That's the formula, but against a real good team like Colorado, you need to add good shooting. All three aspects of the game (defense, ball handling, shooting) were needed to beat UO and, after the first half, to put away OSU. I'd like to think Cougars' shooting has turned a corner, but that can always come and go. They are a pretty resilient and mentally tough team right now, so it's not out of the realm of possibility that they can win at least one on this trip.

Glad Cougar

Good shooting is mostly a product of good ball movement and shot selection, areas where the Cougars did a much better job last week against the Oregon schools. The fact that Bonton has gotten more comfortable and adept in those two areas has been a huge factor in the team's improvement.

Colorado is 13.5 point favorites.

Cougs have been pretty awful on the road this year. If they can't hit shots, it's gonna be a long night. Also their defense is worse on that road. Add to the fact that this road trip is the worse road trip in the conference, it's gonna be a tough game to keep close. I hope they can salvage the Utah game.

I becoming a weak assed man in my old age. I gonna start watching the DVR about 1/2 hour after game time. I'm afraid I will be fast forwarding a lot.

Henson with a rare appearance and some offense.

Ball security is not what it was against the Oregon schools but Cougs are hanging.

Cougs forcing a lot of turnovers but committing too many as well. A questionable 2nd foul on Elleby midway through by a ref who had 3 bodies between him and the ball. Looked like a clean block by CJ, who even got a pat on the behind by Battey as if to say "nice play, CJ."
That was crucial as Elleby sat for several minutes and the Buffs took advantage. It's going to be tough to pull off another upset but I do like how the Cougars compete this year.

Huskies choked away another certain victory. They Dawg'd it for the second straight game.

Glad Cougar

Pollard went down with some sort of hyper-extension. Doesn't look good for him coming back but if there's any way you know he will give it a go. The injuries this year have been equal opportunity.

Elleby / Henson upfront the rest of the way?

Williams is shooting like a freshmen tonight. Great moves to the hoop or hustles for a rebound and then misses the easy shot.

Ran out of gas to go along with running out of healthy bodies. Colorado is really good and they were hitting their 3s tonight. Cougs had to go zone with the personnel that had to play and that just wasn't going to work against a good outside shooting team. Henson can shoot from the outside but blew a couple of layups and doesn't do much else. He could be a weapon in a pinch but it's telling that the two good shooting games he's had this year were relatively lopsided (at least at the end) games. Oh well, let's refocus and compete in Utah.

Glad Cougar

Well it appears to me that the big man must be not very good. I believe Donaldson back in the day who could hardly play basketball got more minutes. 4 minutes is just not enough. He needs to get some minutes in meaningful time. Not many but some to give Pollard a breather for 3 minutes once in a while. Coupled around timeout or something.

I look for some JC big man or grad transfer this team needs some bigs.

They need a replacement for Pollard and at this point it ain't Vovo. He will contribute more in the future but he's in no way ready now.

I have seen him play about 10 minutes this year. He is light years ahead of Donaldson's freshman year. Donaldson looked like he was going to trip over the center court line.

Nice game Cougs. You guys are much improved. Elleby is a beast! Like that 3 point shooter Henson too. Not much in the way of depth up front but that's true for all teams not in the top recruiting quadrant (UO, UW, UA, UCLA, USC). CJ is great on both ends of the court. Did not see that from him a year ago. Pretty good lineup you guys have there and I can see why you swept the Oregon schools. Tons of fire power and aggressive defensively. Just not enough size to be consistent.
