Vs EWU

Overall WSU played a good game in beating a EWU team that also played good.
The ONLY thing that WSU struggled with is BAD FREETHROW shooting, altho in the 2nd half WSU was 14 of 15 at the line, WSU was 2-7 at the line in first half.
Come conference time, WSU won't be able to afford to miss a lot of freethrows.
Smith needs to work, focus more on FREETHROW shooting.
WSU only had 7 turnovers all game, and forced 16 turnovers.
So overall WSU TOOK CARE OF BUSINESS.
Portland St, 5-1 is a semi bigger game coming up.
If, When WSU beats Portland St, WSU will probably run through schedule until Santa Clara and probably beat Santa Clara, go 11-1 in Noncon.
The announcers said that Rhode Island had a really good win, making WSU's win vs them look even better.
Also the announcers said that PJ Carlisimo, the NBA coach, Olympic Dream team coach, and a coach in the NBA Global Academy Africa, said that he thinks that Chinyelu will develop into, be, is, etc, a future NBA pro, and that he is EXTREMELY IMPRESSED with Chinyelu.
And if anyone knows NBA talent, PJ Carlisimo knows NBA talent, so for somebody like PJ Carlisimo to say that Chinyelu is a future NBA pro, THATS SAYING SOMETHING PRETTY SPECIAL.
Kind of an up and down game. Cougs controlled it most of the way but let Eastern hang around. Glad we finally started hitting some free throws. If we had been hitting our "normal" percentage, we would have lost the game.
Weird that EWU has mojo against us in our own building. Rice had a pretty good night but I was disappointed in his heat check shot when we were up by 10 that was way too early and heavily contested. If you're going to shoot with 28 seconds on the shot clock...make it a good one.
The thing that I like about this team is that we have a few different guys that can shoot when we need them to. If I had a player that I'm disappointed in...it's Yesefu. Coming from KU, I was hoping to see him be an impact player and so far, it looks like it wasn't his decision to leave KU. I haven't looked at any advanced stats, but he feels like our least productive player. Hope it gels for him.
