It was kind of a mixed response to the CLW injury. Bella just disappeared without CLW. Ella and Tara and AT really stepped it up. I think they could be really good with the returners, and who knows what the new players may bring.I think they will be good as well. They did not respond well to the CLW injury. But it is a different mindset now and the team is prepared to play without her. I am looking forward to seeing as many games as there are on TV.
Yeah, UCLA is loaded. It often takes a player a while to come back from an injury to be their former selves. We'll have to see how she bounces back or just ends up on the bench still working her way back.It was kind of a mixed response to the CLW injury. Bella just disappeared without CLW. It will really be interesting to see if CLW gets much playing time at UCLA. Most of last year she was in a shooting slump, and just when she was coming out of it she had the ACL. Obviously UCLA is loaded. Seems like a really odd choice to try to break into that line-up while coming off an injury and kind of a down year prior to the injury. I think she would have been wise to stay in Pullman and break all of the WSUWBB records. However, I'm honesty kind of glad she left. She was a great Coug, but I think she was at her ceiling, and the younger players on the team have a higher ceiling and need those minutes. JMO
Yes- I think the injury was the end of January but she didn't have her surgery right away. She posts a lot on Instagram and it looks like she was in New Zealand this September and not practing with the team. Seems like she is back in school now. Probably will be mid-season before she is ready to play, and definitely seems unlikely she would be a starter unless they have a ton of injuries. I totally understand the excitement of transferring to an elite program, but it seems like an odd choice. Also, I'm a little surprised they wanted her, knowing she would have limited availability for just a season. Maybe they felt guilty she tore her ACL playing them!ACL is typically 8-11 months per Google doc. Then the adjustment. I hope she doesn’t rush it.
I think she would have been better served staying with the Cougs. However, the decision was hers. We'll see how it turns out. Players are often able to come back and play the next season, but more often than not they are not themselves until late in the season or the next season. The therapy that an athlete does recovering is way different than the training they do to play their sport at a high level.Yes- I think the injury was the end of January but she didn't have her surgery right away.
