Short handed OT win over the dawgs. Only 7 players. Fortunately the dawgs couldn't hit free throws or would have been different outcome.

That was a wild one. Down 9 with 6 to go made it tough. Then CL-W fouls out. UW did help going 6-21 from the line. Wow! Ula got to OT with a late 3. Always good to beat the mutt’s.

I won’t say I am torn. My “third” daughter starts for the UW. It is a source of frustration as I begged June and staff just to take a look at her. I probably sent 15 emails . I even ran into Mike D at the warehouse tourney in Spokane and he was there to watch the hull sisters . My “third” daughter was playing on what every one thought was a sprained ankle. She lost most of her senior year because it was discovered she had a broken bone in her foot.

Anyway, it is one of those things I want her to do well and want the Cougs to win .

Lucky Reece can’t hit free throws .

i will be at the game on Sunday and see how that turns out.

Surprised no one has posted this. The Cougs completed the sweep of UW in Seattle today. It wasn't near as close as the game on Weds.

It wasn't pretty but a really good week with 3 wins we needed to stay on the bubble. Udub isn't very good, but they are due and always big to beat your rival.

CL-W was really good again. Steady and kept us out of scoring droughts. Teder continues to do good things. Still waiting for Wallack to emerge a bit more but she had a couple good plays late in the 4th quarter.

With Airzona losing to Stnaford we are tied with the Wildcat's for 3rd place. Will need to play a lot better against the Mountain schools. Both are tough outs this year.

Definitely need to play better. If you looked at the stats from both games without knowing the score it wouldn't be a stretch to think UW won them both.

Bella needs to take another step with her ball-handling and strength. Liked the little bit we saw of Clarke.

Everybody keeps saying they need to play better, but think they are who they are. A team that plays really good defense and is inconsistent on offense. CL-W who scores like 17 a game but has a very low field goal percentage. They aren't going to out shoot you, they just outwork teams. They win games on the defensive end of the floor. They're 13-6, on the right side of the bubble. This is a big weekend though, they can really solidify themselves with a bid with a sweep.

If we can stick around in the top half of the conference, we have a good shot. Need at least a split but a sweep would be huge this week. At 7-3 with 6 to go (if no reschedules) we would have a good shot of getting to 10 or 11 wins.

UW should have won the first game. Second game wasn't close. UW played tired, as they should be. They play like seven kids and their pg played 39 minutes on Friday.

Two thoughts, watching UW play Oregon and USC, they can cause problems the tourney, they are not an easy game one out. The kid is 6 9 in the middle. UW probably one more shooter away from having the Cougs recrod.

As for the Cougs, they just love the game. They played hard. They are grinders. The Walker sisters attack the rim like a five footer is guarding the rim. They are so strong the are a matchup problem for most teams.

Coug’s go 6 or 7 deep and played 3 games last week. We have come from behind so often I don’t think a 9 point deficit was that imposing. When CL-W hit the 3 to cut it to 6 with 4+ to play I thought we would win in regulation.

Mulkey impacts the game on both ends. Obviously her length defensively but they seemed to lose their offensive flow when she was off the floor.

I thought Mulkey was a stiff on offense. Pretty ineffective closing underneath. Her passing is highly mediocre. Biggest threat seems to be she can hit a three, but doesn't hardly shoot them. With Sarver, Clarke and Wallach we are at least 8 deep.

Our starters average over 30 minutes a game. Wallack is getting 20-25 minutes with Sarver at about 12 minutes. That's virtually all the minutes between 7. Nankervis and Jones were getting minutes but seem to run into injuries or maybe COVID protocol? Depth is still an issue.

Clarke's pretty skilled, but she hasn't played much this year. She has the skill and IQ. I believe she had some sort of foot issue out of high school.

Great to get the sweep this weekend and the win over OSU. Overall I think we are doing ok, but I haven't seen the step up that I had hoped for this year, given that we returned all 5 starters from a team that went to the NCAA. It seemed like Bella had made real progress with her footwork and shooting early in the year, but now she seems to be back where she was. IMO we are putting too much on the L-W sisters, and forcing them to take a lot of wild shots. Teder needs to take about twice as many shots, and put a little arc on the ball! And we are still not seeing much playing time for the bench. The on-ball defense is certainly elite, but often we are losing big on the rebound margin. UW had second opportunities on nearly every possession, and most PAC12 teams would have made us pay. This next weekend will tell us a lot about where this season is going.
