They actually played a solid competitive game .They have come a long way from the start of the season. They are a couple of good players away from being able to compete with the the better teams in the PAC 12. One can see that coach Kami does not like to lose.Recruiting is the name of the game.

We lost by 22 so hard to convince most it was that competitive. However, it was tied 10-10 when Cal went on a 15-2 run off of 5 straight 3s to take a 13 point lead. For most of the rest of the way it stayed right around 13 before Cal stretched it out in the 4th quarter. We need bigs. Anigwe had 32 points and 30 rebounds. The 30 rebounds was in 34 minutes and 8 more than we had as a team. Cal out-rebounded us 50-22.

Big jump in competition but Bella Murekatete will give us more length and athleticism in the post and could develop into a tough match-up for other teams. Hopefully we find at least one more big to go with Murekatete in the spring. Definitely agree it's going to come down to recruiting and there are a lot of gaps to fill especially with only 1 more year remaining for Molina and Hristova (assuming she comes back).

They were within 10 points during the second half at least a couple of times. They played a good game against better athletes .The cougs do need a bigger player someone like the departed Brown from last year.

His idea of being competitive is different than most, as he comes from the Ernie Kent school of competitive.
Anything less than a 48-point loss is a victory.

Of course even try to praise the women s team and fudgenuts starts caterwaulingso he can be heard . The WBB PAC 12 is a very tough Conference and the cougs have improved immensely this season. They will most probably go down against Cal again but it will not for a lack of effort. Staying within 10 points of Cal at times was done with effort and they are to recommended for it. This guy must go to sleep seeing EK and probably dreams every night of disaster, woe, and sugar plume falling on his head . What a loose card

Imo the women’s team performed about the same as they would have had we kept the old coach, possibly even slightly worse. That really is to be expected considering the transfers, plus players learning a new system that they weren’t recruited for and may not fit their individual strengths. I think we have hired a coach who will grow better as a coach and she will improve the program in the next few years. She stepped up in competition and just like when players move up in competition there was a learning curve. I thought she got out coached in several games this year but she has been around the game a long time and will make the needed adjustments to the team and to her coaching. It will all boil down to whether or not she can recruit against some of the best coaches/ recruiters on the women’s side.

Great point its all about recruiting in basketball. They need another big very badly and we shall see in the late period what Coach can bring.

I guess it is more about the June s and the Julie s than the X s and the O s .Recruiting is the name of the game. Kami s team will be better next year since she seems to have recruited 3 quality players which will improve the team I agree that they need another player over 6 feet .
