BSU shot 64% in the first half (73% Q1) and 4-4 on 3s.

We didn't shoot well the entire game but defense improved in the second half and we went 12-12 from the line for the game.

BYU is a great barometer game. Believe they are on the edge of the top 15 and Creme has them a 4 seed in his Bracketology. We need to play a lot better in Provo.

Very happy we are winning these games, but it sure isn't pretty. We start slow and lots of stretches we look out of synch. The defense is very good and keeping us in every game, but this was a one possession game inside the last 2 minutes and if we didn't go 12 of 12 on free throws, we probably don't win. Hopefully we start to gel soon, but you do wonder if the late arrivals this fall put us behind with regards to offensive flow.

I haven't paid close enough attention let alone looked at stats, but I wonder if it's pace. Against GU, when we went on the 11-0 run to get back into the game, we started to play faster. More pressing, overplaying passing lanes, transition buckets, etc.

I actually think that style fits our current lineup better and that's really the way Ethridge wants to play period. Unfortunately, with little depth it's just not a good strategy within a game let alone an entire season. We would run out of gas again.
