WBK Final: Stony Brook 69, Cougs 62 (Stats)

It was supposed to be Cornell, but they are in COVID protocol as an institution. Since it was the final game of OOC all the holiday travel plans were out of NY so it sounded like we were going there no matter what so why not find a game? Stony Brook had a cancel so there you have it.
Either way, definitely crazy scheduling but that's kind of Ethridge. I think she's a bit of "Sampson redux" in some sense. A "suck it up" kind of approach. She took a Tournament that put us against Baylor, South Carolina and Indiana over 3 consecutive days 2 years ago as well.

The Cornell game was the real head scratcher. A bottom tier Ivy across the country. Hurts our SOS. No possible recruiting or connection to current players. Plus, the travel after BYU was no doubt distracting. We would have a better game from Eastern or Montana State or any or the Big Sky schools, and not subject the girls to a ridiculous trip. Rescheduling with Stony Brook just made a bad situation worse. A very unnecessary loss that will likely haunt us in March.
