WR Orion Peters from Inglewood, CA. Watched his film earlier today and the kid has speed to burn. Fastest player on the first in his entire highlight film. I think we got a good one here. On the smaller side, but Rolo has been saying he is will sacrifice size for speed at WR.

What I like about this was that when he was hired, we heard that Richardson was a good recruiter. He already has one.

Kendrick Shaver was supposed to be a good recruiter, but he didn't do much.

Welcome to the Cougar family Orion.

John Richardson has now pulled more verbal commits out of LA in 4 months than Kendrick Shaver did in two years.
We are on the same wavelength tonight. I was just posting the same thing.

Solid first commit. Offers from ASU and Va Tech among others. Nice to be back in LA. Richardson keeps this up Oregon will offer him a job next year.

Shavers faceplant baffled me. Had a long track record of success at Utah St. Performed so poorly in Pullman he was gone regardless, but no one has picked him up since.

Leach specifically hired him because he had a very good track record of recruiting Los Angeles. He cratered in Pullman, unfortunately.

Sometimes things just don't work out.

A good start. And the kind of kid looking for a different environment, on a team where the hard work will be fun. Seems like a good fit.

Tangentially related, but probably not worth it's own thread. Look at the increase in commits. Covid seems to have accelerated the recruiting time table.

Pretty cool he was named after a constellation like Hercules. Don't know why kids aren't named after constellations more often...other than Cancer. Cancer can play at the uw.

I read Biggens article on the commitment (won't link to a competitor). Biggens assumed Peters would have seen a lot more interest had the evaluation and camp circuit been up and running this spring. Peters called WSU a dream offer. Loved the offense and loved the coaching staff. Richardson met him when he was still at Wyoming.

I know I've been concerned about our lack of commits so far, but Peters enthusiasm renews my faith in Rolo's ability to build a class of 25 pretty good athletes.

The more research I do on Rolo, I come to the conclusion that who wouldn't want to play for him?

He's young, charismatic, runs a fun offense, seems to create a family-type atmosphere(I thought the team showing up to the women's bball Sr. night was awesome) etc.

Cr8zy mentioned above "where hard work will be fun". If that's the case, what a great recruiting tag line.
