With Franks' return, the team seems energized. As I post this, we're up 19 but there's still more than 8 minutes left.

I think we had a shot against the mountain schools with Franks but it is what it is. I really would like to see Elleby, Cannon, Daniels, Wade, and Franks all healthy for a stretch. I think that’s a lineup that could compete with Ali/Robertson, Skaggs, Pollard off the bench.

Best thing is that the shrillers will be taken down another notch if the cougs beat Stanford Oh as the shrillers start their next phase of how woeful the PAC 12 is then one can only say you can only play who is put in front of you,The little arse s experts on the other board spouted crap about a defenseless wild shoot out also look like crap. The cougs with a sound defensive game by the healthy cougs. While Cal is not a good team they are not as bad as the shrillers would like people to think they are .They did beat Santa Clara and SDSU this year. They also lost 82 -79 to St Johns at home this year. They are a young team who will steadily improve this year and will surprise a few teams..Oh if the cougs do beat Stanford then the shrillers will sad that the cougs will beat their forecasts on One PAC 12 wiin :(

Not sure if you watched the game but I’m not sure I would spout off and act all high and mighty because we beat Cal. We beat a team we should have beaten which is what we need to do but there are no other teams imo who we should beat. Stanford is without a doubt beatable, two in a row would be awesome and a good step in the right direction. That Cal team is very young and not very good. Our defense looked good but they helped out in that aspect by being not very good. Same old story was it good defense or bad offense? Based on one game it looked to be better defense but taken in the whole of the season? Do you really feel vindicated by beating Cal? That alone should speak volumes to where our basketball program has sunk to. Now a Stanford win would bring more optimism back into my glass half full.

They are nothing without Franks and he will be gone after a few more games. Besides Elleby, there is nothing in the pipeline that makes me optimistic.

You know what? I am tired of arguing about Kent. I watched the game last night and was entertained by Franks scoring, Ellebys energy, and Cannons jaw dropping tip jam and moves to the rim. Cal is a young team that isnt very good yet, but other than Franks so are we. Guys were excited about good plays and good D. Kunc continues to get more minutes and he is another guy I want to watch develop. I dont know how soon or how much he will develop, but I really like his upside. All on all it was nice to see a team that is finally healthy for one of the few times all season.

Then don't argue- just submit that Ernie is toast in two years.

Franks is a really good player. No arguing there.

But hasta la vista Senor Kent.

If hes gone hes gone. If he stays he stays. My only desire is that Elleby, Cannon and Kunc are still here, and that we get some more kids of that caliber.

Ah observer s new move is to let Franks go then Ernie is toast ? What a bunch of BS if i may say so. If they beat Stanford there will be others to fall . No vindication J but a step in the right direction. I like the recruiting thus far and i want to see other wins this year and next year. Here s one for you observer i will bet that the cougs win 4 conference games for $100. If cougs do not i will contribute the $100 to the coug athletic fund via the monitor? If they win 4 conference games you will contribute $100 via the monitor to the fund?I say via the monitor because i won a couple of bets on games that the board loser failed to pay. Thus if the loser in this bet does pay up the monitor will announce it on this board .The math just got better for you Observer.

Ernie. Bad coach

Got it?

Probably not.

You are seriously betting on 4 conference wins?

That’s bad too.

Then put your money where your mouth is. The only kicker is that the winner has to earmark the money for the basketball program. It is just bad to make statements and not be to willing back it up. Time is running out on this bet. It is good until prior to the Stanford game.

You have feet of clay Observer or maybe you are just working at Mc Donalds? or just a tight as?.You talk big but will not back up your opinions. Hell a bet is a bet that is why it is gamble usually based on some gut feeling or knowledge.

What’s talking big? The fact is Ernie is an awful coach

Don’t confuse that with making a good bet. When the house stacks the line, you don’t put your money down to prove a poijt. Unlike the former AD, I don’t just throw hard earned money into the fire.

A bet is an educated calculation of risk/reward. Bettors who bet emotionally get slaughtered at the bank. It’s a math game.

That’s why you alternatively won’t take the bet at 8 - the odds are stacked against you.

You sure have calmed down as you first said that me talking 4 wins wasa bad bet for me Now you have changed streams in the middle of a horse. You backed down and all can see that except for you maybe The shrillness may be a lonely whistle.

No -not at all. Ernie is still a suck coach riding the Bill Moos buddy hire train. He's raking big jack doing it. Good on him. Yea Capitalism.

That has nothing to do with how I would invest my money or bet.

I will predict WSU doesn't beat a Top 5 team in the conference.

I will predict WSU wins 4 conference games or less - I see Cal, maybe Stanford, maybe Cal again and Oregon State once.

I will predict that Ernie Kent will be bought out of at least the final year of his contract (I actually WOULD put money down on that bet). He might even get paid for doing nothing for TWO years if PATRICK Chun's vote of (no) confidence is to be noted. Not sure how your boy Rob Chun would handle thing.

The whistle is still shrill -I'm just not burning money against probability and statistics just to calm down your alpha side. That's Bill Moos fiscal responsibility.

And in case you missed it above: Ernie Kent is a suck coach. Nice guy. Suck coach.

The bottom line as far as concerns ElC and his rants: this is Ernie's year five and he is reduced to ranting and chest-pounding about a coach who may, or possibly may not, win four conference games and will almost certainly once again finish well below the .500 mark for the season. While the rest of us contemplate the absurdity of such a position, El Banshee continues berating us for our short-sightedness.

Chest pounding ? I think that the self promoting, stationary, self important, inflating balloon egos do not want to be deflated by any coug basketball success. I celebrate and will celebrate any future wins. Put up or shut up observer quit trying to make enough noise to deflect from your original statement that my call of at least 4 wins was a "bad bet" on my part. It was more like your bad call precipitated by EK snubbing your "expert advice: :) The bulbous Pinocchio like clown nose keeps growing. I called you and found you wanting i expected more. I will bet $500 with bogusto that Ernie will be back next year? You have 6 hours to make the bet bogusto otherwise there will hemming and hawing with a million "what ifs, circumstances etc" like others on this board. Talk about short sidetedness. I am cognizant of the economic situation even if others are not. Likewise if i win my proposed bet against observer i will match his $100 loss and match it as a contribution to the coug basketball program. My contribution will be doubled by a fools bet I love it i love it.

Whether or not Ernie is back next year is entirely beside the point of his miserably failed basketball program. The fact we are possibly stuck another season with the atrocity that is EK should certainly not be celebrated by Coug fans wanting at least a little better than his abject failure.
