Welp D Jackson -- no plan to transfer

Damn damn damn if true.

The Twitter comments, and Craig later revealed thru a comment that "His(Jackson's) thank you cougs, announcement, was deleted from his(Jackson)IG.".

Jackson was probably extremely upset, emotional, etc, at getting blown out so bad, WSU's semi bad play, and the guards forcing up a lot of bad outside shots, 3's, and not getting the guards to pass to the bigs inside, etc.

He might have been pissed off enough in the heat of the moment to announce a transfer, then later realized that and took it down.

He also might have been trying to make a point, statement to the coaches, players, etc.

For now he is either not going to transfer, or has at least delayed that decision.

This should be a alarm, wake up call for Smith, team, players, etc, to the point where Smith has a talk with Jackson to try to get him to stay.

Also Smith needs to talk to Diongue the 6-10 big that has WSU in his top 5, and tell him that he has a extremely good chance to get a lot of playing time, be a #1 back up on a NCAA Tourny team if Jackson leaves.

And if Diongue decides to go elsewhere, then need to try harder to get Solomon Ominu into WSU, if Jackson leaves, and if Diongue doesn't goto WSU.

If Jackson leaves, and if WSU doesn't replace him with Diongue, and or a good transfer WSU will probably either just barely sneak into NCAA tourney or goto NIT, and get knocked out 1st round in post season play.

The possibility of Jackson transferring, is the last thing I expected, as no rumblings, no good reasons to maybe transfer.

I see six potential players who MIGHT consider the portal. One was Koulibaly and he appears to be gone. Jackson is on that list and really hope he stays. Noah I feel might need a new start. AJ left last year and was brought back he could still be interested in leaving. Rice didn’t crack the line up this year and it wouldn’t shock me if he left for a school closer to home. Then there is the mystery of Rosario he is either going to have to go or play sooner or latter.

I understand all of your names except Jackson. Why isn't he happy? He has been hurt more than once. When healthy he has been very productive. In my opinion he has developed since coming to Pullman, but injuries have limited the development some.

Agree. This is total speculation but I wouldn't surprised if Rodman moves on. I think Williams would perhaps want a new start as you suggest.

Again, total speculation. It's hard in this new age of transfer portal mania to predict. Nothing would surprise me in terms of players leaving. Everything and everyone is potentially on the table for transfer. Most P5 programs can pay more than Wazzu too.

Dishon is not as athletic as the other 2 post players but he is by far the best low post scorer on the team. Yet he is playing behind the others and is utilized very little in the offensive scheme. Injuries were an issue for him but it just looked like he was frustrated all season. I think he is one we really need to keep if possible.

agree that he is the one we need to keep.

He retracted the tweet. Said he is staying.

And before that, he deleted the tweet from his IG.

And like I said, he was reacting in the heat of the moment, and that once he thought about it, he would stay, and that that was why he deleted it.

And he realizes, knows that he will have a giant starting, co starting, lots of playing time, be a giant contributor, etc, role, on a NCAA team next year, unless he gets injured a lot, and that might not be true at to wherever he would transfer.

And he has extremely good friends on the roster, and gets along with Smith, Most, enough of the time.

Only Transfers I can see are Koulibaly(Gone already), Rosario, Preferred Walk On's, Rapp, Rice and maybe Jaki(longshot) maybe Rodman, another longshot.

And the chances, odds, probabilities of transferring are:

Efe: 1,2,3%

Gueye: 1,2,3%

Tyrell Roberts: 1,2,3%

Noah: 4,5,6%

Bamba: 6,7,8%

Rodman: 6,7,8%

Jaki: 7,8,9%

Jackson: 8,9,10%

Rice: 9,10,11%

Rapp: 13% to 15% to 17% to 19%

Rosario: 20% to 23% to 25% to 27% to 30%

There might be 1,2 transfers, and probably not someone that would hurt losing, or that would be hard to replace.

And as another said, it's all SPECULATION, at best, because there has not been rumblings, major proof, signs, evidence, etc, except for Koulibaly(Gone), and now Jackson.

Agree with all that has been said about Dishon. Hope he continues to be a valuable member of the team. Cougs would've won numerous additional games this year with a healthy Jackson. This is what becomes a challenge when you have 3 big men and only 2 can normally be playing (and/or starting) at any one time. Between Jackson, Efe, and Gueye....all are important players and the Cougars need all three, IMO. Smith needs to find the right balance and rotation that will keep all players satisfied and that maximizes their value to the team. I guess that's a better problem than not having enough big men.

Glad Cougar

My opinion on Dishon possibly transferring has zero to do with the tweet. All the players will give it awhile and discuss options with staff and family and friends before making any decisions, at least I would hope so. In my mind he is still a viable candidate.

Good to hear and hope he stays. Efe, Jackson, Gueye form as talented a group of bigs as we have probably ever had in Pullman. I love what Jackson brings to the table. Like all 3, he just needs to stay healthy.
