What if...?

Well, I'm sure no one will complain.

Well that would all depend on "how" we win right? It amazes me that we still have folks complaining after wins. I get that Rutgers and Wyoming are not great teams, but they were wins. We have had few enough of those lately for fans to get disjointed about how it is accomplished....my opinion anyway. Don't get me wrong though, I would have liked clown stomping them better, but at the end of the day all wins count the same.

It's been a problem for a while. If we win. People complain. If we were winning at half time..they leave then cry when the team lets down and wonder where that attitude of letting down after half time comes from.

Even games where we win "We were Lucky" blah blah blah excuse for winning. Want to see a lucky team...look at Cal when they beat us last year when we missed a field goal...look at Texas who missed an extra point against them...look at TCU who apparently won with a tipped pass on the last play against Texas Tech. BYU with Hail Mary...if anything....anything...we are one of the unluckiest teams. So it really just is ridiculous when people say we got lucky when we win.
Even against Rutgers we had to overcome a late punt return for a TD....and a called back ref review TD (harrington)...and still....still..we won.

For a young team with significantly better talent than in the past I'm still optimistic about the season.

These are the things that have been accomplished in 4 years.

- The best cumulative recruiting rankings we've had in about 10 years.
- Our first bowl game in 10 years.
- First time beating an OOC Power 5 team since 2006
- Multiple NCAA records
- #1 in the country in Passing
- Multiple players drafted including a 1st round pick
- Beating USC at USC for the first time in 13 years
- The largest comeback in Apple Cup History
- More teams with winning records beaten since 2006
- A QB who has been Pac 12 player of the week 2 out of 7 starts.

What if Saturday after Cal we go 3-1?

I think most fans will be excited but there will be a few who bemoan the fact that we would have been 4-0 if we hadn't lost to PSU.

For me, if we can beat Cal, it will mean that we should have real confidence against OSU, CU and UW, meaning that we'll have a legit shot at a bowl game if we take care of business. I'm glad that Oregon gets CU this week because they can take out all of their angst on them. I expect CU to get destroyed. Right now, UCLA is the only team that I doubt that we have a shot against, although Stanford appears to be much better than I expected.

UCLA is looking good, despite the injuries on defense.

I'm not so sure, oregon is in disarray right now, nobody in the program has experienced that kind of beat down before. they could easily fall apart again if the going gets tough at colorado. Adams is clearly over his head and lockie is too inexperienced

We've all seen programs that are used to success implode more than they should have. Auburn in 2012 is the perfect example of that. They had a brutal schedule to start the season with games against Clemson, Mississippi State and LSU in September. They then stumbled through their game against a bad Arkanasas team and came out flat against a mediocre Ole Miss team. Michigan did the same thing in 2008. Played well early but once the wheels fell off, they stunk. So, I agree that Oregon could come out flat against CU and lose.

Until I see it happen, I expect them to pull a USC and rout the Buffaloes.
