So yeah, we're trending at looking good with hanging 50 points on Colorado State and Wisconsin now being 3-1.
Wisconsin’s wins are against Buffalo, Purdue, and Georgia Southern. Hardly murderer’s row.

True. But in all fairness you could have substituted 75% of the power five schools and you’d have the same analysis.
Purdue isn’t good this year but Wisconsin crushed them. Feel free to note that they only lost to Fresno State by 3 points, who crushed ASU.
I’m not predicting that Wisconsin is going to win the B1G but I think our win this year is going to prove more meaningful than last year’s win.
B1G is pretty bad this year except for the big 3 teams.
Purdue is not good, but Wisconsin bear them easily which is what they should have done.
IF IF IF Wisconsin is 6-1, 7-1, etc, they would STILL be good to very good, IF IF that were to happen, does NOT matter about BIG 10 being down, or only having 3,4 good teams, etc.
At some point, IF IF they keep winning, you eventually have to give them credit, because even against lackluster competition, it still takes good play to go 6-1,7-1, 8-1, etc, and also it's not their fault, their competition is weaker.
If Georgia has the easiest schedule in all of college footballdom, does, would that mean, that just like Wisconsin, they would supposedly suck, because of their sucky strength of schedule?

If Wisconsin goes 6-1, 7-1, 8-1, etc, then Wisconsin would be pretty good.
Now I'm not saying that's going to happen, and not saying Wiscy is good, but people, especially coug fans, need to stop cheapening Coug wins because supposedly if cougs beat a semi blue blood type or better like a Wiscy, Penn St, Michigan, Ohio St, LSU, Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, FSU, Florida, Clemson, USC, etc, then they must suck, for a sucky WSU to beat them.
That type of thinking, especially by Coug Fans, needs to stop.
People, Coug Fans, need to consider the possibility, semi might semi probability that the reason why WSU beats a semi blue blood or better, is that WSU might probably BE A GOOD TEAM, at least until if the semi blue blood, WSU prove otherwise.
No, what people need to stop doing is inflating performance and expectations because we beat a team that has history. That doesn’t matter. All that matters is how good they are this year.
We know that most - if not all - of the other conferences like to pad their non-conference with easy wins. So, we see a 5-1 team “collapse” and finish 6-6 or 5-7. It isn’t really that they collapsed, it’s that their schedule was frontloaded with marshmallows.
Wisconsin has a pretty favorable schedule this year. They only play Iowa and Ohio state, the rest of their games are against the lower half teams of the Big 10. If they get past Iowa, maybe they start to look better (although Iowa hasn’t done anything yet either - they get Penn state today). But the badgers could get to 6-1 before they play anyone who really has a pulse.
This is why there shouldn’t be any rankings before week 5 or 6. Before then, nobody’s got enough of a resume to be ranked based on what they are. Everyone is ranked based on what they were last year or the year before, or in 1962. It’s how #5 Michigan loses to Appalachian state - they didn’t deserve to be #5. It’s how the preseason #1 finishes 7-5 and unranked - they didn’t deserve to be #1. And it’s how unranked Washington state ends up #10 - they were ranked on expectations, not performance. And expectations don’t mean anything, especially when it’s the expectations of network execs and writers who don’t know a damn thing about football.
So, sure, we beat Wisconsin. Twice. But they weren’t a great team last year, and we don’t know how good they are this year. We should save the end zone dances and field rushes until we know that it means something.
