They can’t shoot worth a piss today. They are playing fine and getting good looks but ice cold.
Not a good sign when the ball bounces on the rim twice, hits the top of the backboard and drops in for a 3.
Could not handle their quickness the entire game. In the 3rd when they went on the run of 3s completed with a 3 that bounced high off the rim twice, then the top of the backboard twice, and dropped...I pretty much seemed like it was obviously their day.
It's tough to learn how to get over the hump in the Tournament. We just have to keep grinding and hopefully get a better draw.

I think part of it was winning the Pac 12 tourney...and if you told me we can win the Pac 12 tourney but lose the 1st round of the tournament, is take it.
As I said before, Wallach and Teder were the only ones who showed up
Gulf Coast is a well coached team. He has the 3rd highest winning percentage of active coaches....and it shows.
As Observer observed, that 3 ball that went off the roof, off the top of the backboard etc and in was the sign it wasn't our night.

We missed many shots we can make. Bella couldn’t get into the flow until very late. Shots that were dropping for her in Pac 12 weren’t today. CL-W 13 under her average.
The Tournament is a different animal. It’s easy to lose composure when things aren’t going your way and it starts to spiral. Would have really liked a shot at ‘Nova.
It doesn’t help when they are playing at 9 am their time. That explains a lower energy . I wonder when they traveled .
A better draw isn't going to help much when you play like they did today. General impression is they were a step slow all game, and they missed a lot of close shots that they should, and normally do, make. GC was was driving past the WSU defender all the way to the hoop all day, including 5-6 times that they took it all the way from their defensive end of the floor to the hoop for a layup without getting decent pressure to stop the ball from WSU. No excuse for that, and I think they were sometimes lazy getting back and getting set on D.
Anybody else look at a shot chart for the game? GC had 4 3 pointers, and EVERY other bucket was a frikken layup! Damn! Never seen anything like that.
Here is the stat that I think really tells the tale-GC had 7 steals and WSU had 0. Are you kidding me? Go go an entire game and cannot steal the ball even one single time? Something wrong with that stat, and it shows you why they got their but kicked in the second half.

Great season, shitty draw and not their night. FGC is not a 12 seed. They couldn’t shoot a lock for some reason tonight. Shits they usually nail clanking. Two best olayeees in foul trouble all night. Tough one. Still proud of this team.

But since NEGA COUGS think that 1 BAD game INVALIDATES, etc, and think that because Kyle Smith, Men's team had a BAD NIT LOSS, and that that supposedly INVALIDATES Smith, men's team MIRACULOUSLY, winning 17, going 17-15, 11-9 in conference, 5th in conference, 1 PAC 12 tourny win, 7 WINS IN A ROW at end of season, etc, DESPITE ALL THE INJURIES, 3rd most UNLUCKIEST team, accord to Ken Pom and about top 25 toughest schedule accord to Ken Pom, then because Smith sucks accord to NEGA COUGS, because had BAD NIT GAME, then Kami is also not a good coach because of a BAD NCAA tournament game.
What's good for the goose is good for the gander, what goes for Smith, men's team, goes for Kami, women's team.
But the NEGA COUGS are WRONG.
Kami and Smith are awesome coaches, and WSU is very lucky to have them.

A step slow is correct . I think playing at 9 am their bio time will cause that .
Yes.
Another next step for us is getting out of the east. A step for the Women's Tournament is getting rid of early morning start times period.
