Wow - 45,000 at Colorados spring game

Yup, 45K paid for the spring game that started w/ snow. Just $10, but it had always been free. Largest attendance before yesterday was 17.5K. It's not going to happen overnight, but Sanders seems to have Boulder's attention.

Begs the question... what did they see and was the $10 worth it?

Deion's kid has a pretty decent arm but their defense was beyond reprehensible in the 15 minutes I watched. Our defense has some holes to fill but was definitely far better than the abomination that I saw in their spring game.

What's going to be real interesting is to see how Sanders (and his team) handle adversity. He's a loud mouthed snake oil salesman who's only there to get to his next stop. I see their team this year being like our 2008 squad with Wulff. They won't be as bad, but a lot of guys are going to be just going through the motions once their coach starts making excuses at every press conference about how "it's the players and not me" whenever they lose. They've got a tough schedule to go up against. At TCU is no joke and Nebraska is more snakebit than bad. At Oregon, vs USC and at ASU is a tough stretch. 1-5 heading into the Stanford game would be no surprise. We'll see.

EDITED to add the link below. Doh!

Flat, I agree 100%. It will indeed be interesting. If they catch a bunch of breaks and somehow manage to start fast they might do something this year; it is not out of the realm of possibility. But if the more likely thing happens, I just don't know if Neon can put out a dumpster fire. He is more likely to throw gasoline on it.

1/2 of Colorado's team entered the portal today.
According to news reports, 6 players on Sunday, 17 total since April 15. Not half the team, but yeah a lot. This will be an interesting year to watch. Although our basketball team has had 3 depart via the portal, roughly 20% of the team.

I believe the number is over 50 since the end of last season.

In fairness, Colorado sucked. They needed to sweep out the deadwood in the locker room and bring in fresh talent. Losing 50% of a suck roster isn't a bad thing.

Deon will get any recruit he wants to come to Boulder with the promise of immediate playing (prime) time.

Deon will get any recruit he wants to come to Boulder with the promise of immediate playing (prime) time and enough money.

Fixed.
