Well…it’s the first day of summer school for WSU, so population is way down. Not that they’d officially acknowledge it anyway.

When I got to Pullman in the fall of 1970, there were two things stenciled on sidewalks all over campus. One was "Hooray, hooray for the 8th of May" and the other was "Trout Fishing in America". Took a while to figure out what each one referred to.

By the way, if you ever get into a disagreement with someone about whether it is the 1st or the 8th of May that is actually "National Outdoor Intercourse Day", just remind them it is the 8th because that is the 69th of March!
