The study subject would be "has the absence of fans changed the home team vs away team fouls called difference in a statistically significant way."

Anyone see anything on this? Do fans influence referees calls? This would be really interesting to find out with actual data.

It was covered a bit in this book. Think his conclusion from all the numeric regression was that officials subconsciously hated being yelled at.

Interesting. Thanks. It would seem like the difference could be more clearly quantified in by what we saw this season vs a typical season.
