Washington State will be looking for their first victory of the Ernie Kent era tonight as they face TCU at 5 p.m. The game will be televised locally on ROOT Sports NW.

The starters tonight will remain the same: Ike Iroegbu, DaVonte Lacy, Dexter Kernich-Drew, Junior Longrus and Jordan Railey. You can here's a link for in-game statistics.

-Bad start as the Cougars get the tip but Iroegbu immediately turns the ball over and TCU comes down to convert and and-one to put the Frogs up 3-0. Another turnover, this one from Lacy, who then immediately commits a foul. Two turnovers and two fouls in the opening 30 seconds. After a missed TCU floater, they're called for an offensive foul on the rebound.

-Longrus gets the ball down low on the ensuing possession but misses both free throws. Oof. After another foul, TCU knocks down a bank shot and Iroegbu comes down and hoists up an air ball. Timeout, WSU.

TCU leads WSU 5-0 with 18:23 left in the first half.

-Josh Hawkinson comes in for Railey and Cheatum for Longrus. TCU comes out of the timeout and gets about as easy of a layup as you can ask for to go up 7-0. WSU missed another shot and then the Frogs come back and get in the lane with ease, knocking down a floater, 9-0. Another missed layup, this one by Kernich-Drew and TCU comes down and scores again with ease, 11-0.

-Lacy fires up another awful shot and after a TCU turnover, WSU misses another layup. TCU comes down and drills a three to go up 14-0. Hawkinson gets WSU off the schnide, scoring on back-to-back jump hooks, though TCU drilled a three in between shots to give the Frogs a 17-2 lead.

Timeout on the floor. 17-4, TCU, with 14:33 to go in the first half.

-WSU has started 2-of-7 from the floor while TCU is 7-of-9. Que Johnson comes in the game after the timeout, along with Redding. Cheatum gets blocked inside, may have been another turnover, though.

-Another near offensive rebound for TCU, but Hawkinson ties it up and it's a jump ball to TCU. Jordan Railey enters the game for Cheatum. Railey immediately gets a block, but TCU maintains possession. With under 10 seconds on the shot clock, Redding commits a foul on the drive. TCU gets a bucket and goes up 19-4.

-Railey gets the ball down low and on a fadeaway for now reason, airballs from about 7 feet away. TCU comes back down, easily gets into the lane once again, but the miss the layup. Que Johnson replicates on the other end and misses from short.

-Hawkinson saves it from under his own hoop, then TCU gets the ball and draws a foul. Timeout on the floor, WSU trails TCU, 19-4, with 11:43 to go in the half.

-Hawkinson, Lacy, Que, Redding and Railey on the floor out of the timeout. TCU hits 1-of-2 free throws. WSU comes down the floor and an off-the-ball foul is called on the Frogs. Que, on the inbounds, misses the shot but gathers his own rebound and finds Hawkinson underneath for the bucket. Hawkinson has all six of WSU's points. It's 20-6, though, so that's bad.

-TCU comes down and draws another foul, this time on Lacy, who picks up his second foul with 11:10 to go. TCU hits 1-of-2 free throws. Railey, though, comes down and backs his defender under the hoop then converts on the turnaround layup.

-WSU forces a turnover and then Redding finds Lacy, who makes the layup and draws a foul. He hits the free throw and WSU cuts the lead to 10 at 21-11, TCU. WSU then comes out with some full court pressure but TCU breaks it rather easily.

-A TCU air ball and the Cougars come down to find Lacy in the corner for a three, cutting the lead to 21-14 with 9:40 left. TCU calls a timeout.

-WSU was on a 10-1 run prior to that timeout. TCU comes down and airballs again, but WSU immediately turns it over and then the Cougars foul on the shot. The Frogs hit 1-of-2 free throws. Railey draws a foul on the other end and hits 1-of-2, airballing the second free throw. It's 22-15, TCU, and the Cougars again go to the full court pressure.

-TCU finds a wide open player under the basket for the easy layup then Railey backs his defender down again, but is long on the short hook. After yet another offensive rebound for the Frogs, they hit another layup and it's 26-15, TCU. Que Johnson is called for a charge on the other end and there's another timeout on the floor with 8:08 to go in the half.

-TCU comes out of the timeout and converts on a jumper to go up 28-15. The Cougars have five turnovers in the first half. TCU then comes down and drills another three. The Cougars come down and lose the ball, but they tie it up to maintain possession. It's 31-15.

-Hawkinson starts to backdown his defender and while there was some contact, gets called for a charge despite the defender flopping. That's another turnover, though.

-Jackie Davis is apparently not redshirting as he sees his first action of the season. WSU is in the bonus and Ny Redding knocks down both free throws. The Cougars, trailing 31-17, come out in a full court press but are unable to do much with it as the Frogs beat it easily for the layup.

-Lacy, on the ensuing possession, pump fakes, steps back behind the line from the wing and misses the three but draws the foul. He hits 2-of-3 from the charity stripe and WSU now trails TCU, 33-19 with 5:08 to go.

-TCU is able to get in the lane at will against WSU and they get another easy bucket. After another WSU turnover, TCU comes down and misses a three. Hawkinson grabs the board and Lacy goes to work, drive the lane and draws a foul despite clearly traveling. Lacy misses the first free throw and hits the second. WSU trails 35-20. Que Johnson comes in for Lacy and Trevor Dunbar enters, too.

-WSU runs through their offense, gets the shot clock under 10 seconds and Hawkinson then chucks up a deep shot that clanks off the backboard. TCU comes down and nails a jumper which is followed up by a Que Johnson airball from three. WSU is 6-of-21 from the floor right now.

-Another turnover, this one by Trevor Dunbar and TCU comes down for another bucket. Kent calls timeout and the Cougars now trail TCU, 39-20, with 2:30 to go in the half.

-Aaron Cheatum breaks an 18-5 run by TCU with a layup coming out of the timeout. WSU forces a turnover and Kernich-Drew draws the foul. He'll go to the line looking for his first points of the season after another media timeout. It's 39-22, TCU, with 1:59 left in the half.

-Kernich-Drew hits one of two free throws and scores his first point of the season. TCU, though, comes down and drills a three as the Cougars trail 42-23. Kernich-Drew, mocking me, comes down and hits a three to cut the lead to 42-26. Not to be outdone, TCU hits a three and then Lacy misses his own. TCU calls a timeout and the Frogs lead the Cougs, 45-26.

Re: HALFTIME: WSU 26, UTEP 45...

yikes.

I turned it off with 6 min left in the half.

Unbearable to watch. it's gonna be awhile.

-Here's some stats from the first half: Lacy has 9 points on 2-of-7 shooting, Hawkinson has six points and six rebounds, Kernich-Drew has four points after finally making a shot, Railey has played OK with 3 points, though he has just one rebound, Cheatum has added two points and Que Johnson hasn't hit a shot (0-of-3).

-First half minute distribution: Lacy-15, Hawkinson-15, Railey-12, Kernich-Drew-10, Cheatum-10, Redding-10, Que-9, Ike-7, Davis-4, Dunbar-4 and Longrus-2.

-TCU comes out and immediately goes inside, drawing a foul. TCU makes 1-of-2 free throws to extend the lead to 20, but Railey comes back down and works it inside, nailing a jump hook. WSU then appears to get the rebound, but Kernich-Drew is called for a foul, which was a really bad, bad call. The bad call turns into an easy bucket and TCU is up 20 again, 48-28.

-Lacy comes down and misses a jumper from the top of the key but Hawkinson is there for the offensive rebound and put back. WSU goes into a man-to-man defense and stymies TCU. The rebound falls out of bounds and the Cougars will take over with 18:00 to go. Kernich-Drew, in perfect motion, comes off a screen and drills a three to cut the lead to 15 at 48-33, Frogs.

-Railey is immediately called for a foul after he's drawn in the air and falls on the shooter. TCU hits the first free throw but there was a lane violation on the second. Lacy comes down and on a nice backdoor cut, gets a layup. The lead is now down to 14 at 49-35. WSU, still in a man defense, gets beat on a jumper.

-Railey gets the ball down low again and draws the foul. He misses the first free throw and is short on the second. Two missed free throws later and a couple more buckets from TCU, sandwiched between a pair of WSU turnovers and TCU now has a 53-35 lead.

-Another big three from the top of the key and TCU opens up a 21-point lead. Ike comes down and hits a floater from the baseline to end the bleeding, a little bit, but TCU gets in the lane again to push the lead back to 21. Media timeout and the Cougars trail TCU, 58-37, with 15:03 left.

-Another turnover out of the timeout. Lacy is called for traveling. That's turnover No. 10 for the Cougars. Continuing the consistency trend, TCU comes down and gets in the lane for an easy bucket. But, wait. There's another WSU turnover. After a missed layup on the fast break, WSU gets their hands on it and forced a jump ball, which goes the Cougars' way. This game is over and I'm not sure why I'm still typing.

-Lacy drives the lane and draws a foul. Lacy will shoot two free throws. He misses the first... and the second. So, yeah. The Cougars are now 8-of-18 from the free throw line and Lacy is 4-of-8.

-Brett Boese is in the game for Lacy, hoping to bring the Cougars back to relevance. But WSU is unable to handle a rebound and then Cheatum is called for a foul, which turns into an easy drive into the lane, but once again, WSU is unable to handle the rebound and it remains TCU ball. TCU waxes a three and it's 63-27 now with 13:00 left.

-Boese misses a wide open three and the Cougars get the rebound. Que Johnson with some nifty footwork in the post to score. That's his first points of the game.

-TCU draws a foul on Jackie Davis. Timeout on the floor. WSU trails TCU, 63-39, with 11:55 left.

-Wide open three out of the timeout. Boese comes down and gives the ball away, feeling sorry for WSU, the Frogs give the ball back. Trying to be even nicer, WSU throws it out of bounds but it's tipped by a TCU player and remains WSU ball. Lacy is back in the game. It's 66-39.

-Kernich-Drew with the turnover and TCU gets a fast break layup. Hawkinson misses the layup and after a scrum for the ball, Hawkinson is fouled on the shot. He'll shoot two, but I can't guarantee he'll make two. Just kidding, he's not shooting. WSU has 12 turnovers. Off-ball foul on the inbound and WSU passes it in, loses the ball but there's another foul call on TCU, which is their third in about 4 seconds.

-WSU misses about 5 shots from 2 feet away but maintain possession only to turn it over. TCU with another fast break and DKD fouls him on the shot. TCU hits both free throws and open up a 31-point lead. It's 70-39 with 10:17 left.

-Hawkinson misses three shots on the Cougars next possession and after all of that the Cougars maintain possession. Another turnover for the Cougars, another fast break layup. Dunbar comes down and forces one up, but gets fouled. Dunbar misses the free throw.

-I'm done here.

If I'm Moos, I'm calling Ernie and telling him that he's pulling the charter flight, everyone is going home coach. good grief!
