2024 Defense ... sum didn't equal the parts

Players in the portal and offers they said they have.....

Our linebacker going to UW. Our third DT going to Houston.

Our second best DT going to TCU.

Our best DT has not announced but by far most valuable Coug in the portal.

Our corners have offers from Ole Miss (Hall) and Miami (Connors)

Our strong safety Wilson going to ASU .

They replaced four starters in the secondary from last year, two went to the NFL.

Some will say scheme. Some will say Schmeding over his head. I would agree.

I would also say our DE play was poor

You would have thought with the talent talent they had they could have overcome scheme and coaching if that was the most obvious reason.

The thing is that Dickert himself was a defensive coach. He had a lot to do with what scheme we had and what players played. Both he and Schmedding may have been in over their heads.
