...2 when I wake up tomorrow. Geezus I am nervous. This is the perhaps the biggest game ever for our Cougs.

I really think that we will finally break through and pull this one off.

I think we will do great. I’ve wanted a 100% healthy QB for the Apple Cup for some time.

People just forget that hasn’t happened for us in while.

2017 - Falk played but had a broken wrist, No Pelleur.
2016 - Falk was healthy but no Rivercracraft
2015 - No Falk (injures), Played Bender.
2014 - No Halliday (injured), Played Walk-on 2nd game Falk
2013 - Healthy Halliday but still transitioning from Wulff stink. (We actually were leading at halftime in this game)

Out of the last 5 years only 2 had our season starting QB healthy at the helm.

Several years had key people like Pelleur or Cracraft missing with injuries.

For the first time since Leach has been here with the program rebuilt are we walking into the Apple Cup with

- A healthy experienced Season long starter at QB.
- Key leadership senior starters healthy and ready to play (Pelleur, Dale,)
- All of our WRs two deep and healthy (Martin,Winston,Patmon,Calvin,Harris,Sweet,Jackson,Bell)
- All our RBs healthy and ready to go (Borghi,Williams)
- Pretty much our whole O-line. (I think we had Liam go down not sure who is injured, hopefully not too much serious)

Overall we are about as healthy as experienced as we have ever been for the Apple Cup.

I’m not nervous about the game at all.

The nervousness I feel before this game, and all Apple Cups really, ruins the entire buildup week. It always has.

This is always a tough game for us because it's the last game of the season and the UW simply has more depth than we do most years. This year we are the better team but they should be much fresher coming off bye/OSU and the weather's a concern. Thing is this team doesn't make excuses. They will come out ready to play and give it their best shot.

I can't wait for this one.

Exactly, you don't fear games like this. You look forward to it. You look forward to the challenge. What I look forward to is the Cougs to play well. Competition is competition. You don't change everything you do for one team. The Cougs won't play scared. They will be ready.

Good points. Going back further (I had kind of forgotten that we won 4 out of 5 from 2004-2008, thanks Alex Brink!), in:
2003 - Kegel was beat up and had to come out.
2002 - Gesser gets hurt and then the refs steal the game.

Exactly.

If we are all healthy in the Apple Cup it’s a coin flip with us probably winning.

But because the game is at the end of the year we more often than not have limped into the game to face a team that is much deeper.

This is the first year in a long long time that we are going in at full strength.

Last year:

5 sacks given up
4 Coug turnovers, 3 ints, 1 fumble

45 rush 328 yards, 7.3 yards per carry, 5 rush tds given up to UW RB's. Their 4th string QB could have beat us that day.

On paper, a solid performance all around and we should win this game. Just don't lay an egg in like we have been the last few years.

Hopefully Tay Martin didn't get injured too bad on the second to last play. He was favoring it pretty good during handshakes in the middle of the field.
