On a sort of related note here on the football board, the Oakland A's took Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray with the 9th overall pick, plan to give him nearly $5 million to sign, and will let him play football for one more season before having him concentrate on baseball full time. Being the guy who will replace a Heisman Trophy winner at a school that's in play for an NC, the A's apparently aren't worried that Murray will want to be the next Russell Wilson. I would have to think that Murray's contract will contain some language that assures the A's his football days will be over after one more season (he's only a redshirt junior, I think).
Murray did play baseball at OU this year and did well for a guy who had not played in 2 years. He's an incredible athlete who could be the steal of the draft if it all comes together, but the A's are really rolling the dice on this one.
