Jack Jones… Look at this guys list of offers and look who's on top. I'll say it again, "call me impressed". He's more of an ATH, as he plays DB as well. There's a little footage of him throwing, as well but it seems WSU is recruiting him as a WR.

Impressive. But to be completely honest with you, after this years flip-fest with our recruits and commits, I'm paying zero attention to any commits and/or prospects until the ink is dry.

I get that. And I felt like my legs were swept out from under me after all of that. After a bit of separation, I've really come to a different feel to it.

I truly feel like that was an indication of how much we've made steps forward. Were we able to close the deal? Nope but man, we were beating out national powerhouses, and the national powerhouses lost those players, as well. I see it as a real indication of positiveness because we haven't had that kind of class in a long, long time. And even those that signed… those are quality players, man. We will see but I've truly turned that corner and looking at this in two lights. One, we actually had/HAVE an incredibly good class. Second, doesn't this show how much the "waterline" has been raised for WSU? Expectations are a b!t(h but it's obvious, generally speaking, WSU fans expectations have been raised and I think this is an indication that we are on the precipice of meeting some of those.

Crystal ball isn't coming out but the next year is going to be fun. Certainly in 2 years will be fun.

Let me save everyone a lot of time and heartache:
90% chance: kid doesn't commit7% chance: kid commits, then flips in the 11th hour when Oregon/SC have a recruit drop out, and they offer him as a backup2% chance: this is actually the great crooner Jack Jones1% chance: kid commits, and sticks, to WSU and signs LOI, and doesn't churn

Alright Nancy, step away from the edge.

I kid, Chip.

If this team wins 7 or 8 games next year there will be more commits and less flips. Do I think they win 8 games? no not really but anything is possible, and I do believe this team will get to a point where they win 7 or more games year after year, and put more players in the NFL. It is simply going to take more time and when that happens the 7 or more becomes 9 more each year.

You do make good and valid points, 95. Especially regarding the fact that this years recruiting is a "high water" mark for WSU in regards to recruiting.
And yes, the players we DID get are going to be some of the best to ever come to Pullman.
I'm just not looking forward to a repeat of this years disappointments, that's all. Perhaps winning 8 games & a bowl will negate some of the flipping in the coming years.

Guys, my glasses are not rose tinted (OK, maybe crimson tinted, but that's not the same thing).

I think the reason we had so many flips was very simple. One of our lead recruiters changed jobs just before LOI. Recruiting (like a lot of other things) is all about personal relationships. Spend a year or more building the relationship, then cancel it out just before LOI, and you will get a lot of flips. If you take the "Simmons Effect" out of the picture, we were pretty stable. And since I don't expect to lose a lead coach just before LOI again this year, I think you will see an even better recruiting class.

IMHO, it is just that simple.
