Ahhhh... the Apple Cup

A. B. They do, if they do the same things that has dominated the game in the past, and you assume that doesn't really matter "this year," and you must intentionally ignore that Utah State also ran it down our throat in the fourth quarter for your analysis to make sense. Only once this season has Utah State done better on the ground. They managed only 98 yards against terrible New Mexico State. The same thing with BYU, Oregon State, Utah. They all had second season best ground games against us. Why should the UW be any different?
Because UW hasn’t scored points on anyone this season, including Montana and Arizona.

You’re going back to our season opener against Utah State and ignoring the massive improvements we’ve made since that game. I don’t understand that.

Same application as OSU vs. ducks. Watched OSU yesterday, very impressive, and they would crush oregon at this point in the season.

My only analysis is that UW isn’t that great running the ball. Under 4 ypc is bad. That’s where they are. They are not the UW of 2 years ago and will not all of a sudden turn into that team after 11 weeks of grinding their wheels. Our defense isn’t great against the run but a helluva lot better than we were 2 years ago. I get your hesitance to be overly confident, hell I am there with you, but I have a hard time seeing this UW team gash us like we’ve seen in the past. Now could we throw 2 pick six’s and get beat by 3 TDs? Sure- offense is going to need to hang onto the ball and keep the chains moving. A 3 and Out fest will F our defense too.

G-dammit i hope you're right, however don't be surprised when the huskies play better this Friday than any game they've played this year.

I'm hanging my hat on the classic "gamblers fallacy"...each year we don't win just increases the odds that we will win. That's all I have to say about that.

Having a staff who makes adjustments during the game is something that we were sorely lacking during Leach's tenure and it manifested itself every AC.
There's a reason for those margins of victory you listed... and it had little to do with the talent gap.
you need to pay more attention to the DL, theirs in particular

All of UW's P12 games have been decided by 7 points or less with the exception of the Oregon game, where they lost by 10.

I expect another very competitive game this week.

It's an interesting game to predict this year. Do you go by our recent laying of an egg in the AC? Do you go by how WSU has performed this year vs how the ewe has performed? Common opponents? Overall records? The ol' "we're due"? Or do you go by the "they have higher caliber players" school of thought?

I personally think their strategy of being more academically prowess hasn’t worked out well for them this year, so I got Cougs by 2 TDs

I don’t like the matchup. Their young WR are good and are going to make plays.

That was the key with Petersen's AC playcalling - throw deep to establish (or re-establish) the lead. Run to salt the game and kill the clock

The two "Run The Damn Ball" proponents (Donovan and Lake) just got shown the door.

Their interim coach played for Walden and with Millard.

Doubt the pizza delivery guy that Millard "allegedly" mugged was slapped with a laminated play sheet or study guide

While you can't defend the worst Apple Cup coach ever, we have lost, in part, because the UW has 11 DBs in the NFL and more than 40 overall. Their has been big talent gap, let's not kid ourselves. Leach contributed to the losses with down playing the game, inflexibility and not doing what it took to turn bottom rung recruiting into upper division, despite 10 of millions spent to do just that.
And Danny Shelton, Vita Vea, Elijah Qualls, Greg Gaines, and that Levi guy with the long last name.

I personally choose to believe that the “prowess” fiasco was the real reason that they let go of fLake. The shit results and “separation” incident are all a smokescreen.

His sideline blowup showed everyone that he didn’t have the demeanor to be their head coach, and when previous incidents of player altercations were uncovered, that was it for him.

He slapped a player with a laminated play sheet while breaking up a fight.

Jim Owens coach of much worse UW team than this, required black players to take loyalty oaths. Those that didn't were dismissed.
Not only wasn't he not fired, in 2003 they built a statue to Owens outside the entrance of Husky Stadium.

Both events reflect the attitudes of the UW boosters and of the people living in the neighborhood near Husky Stadium.

I didn’t have a problem with what he did personally, but his emotional reaction didn’t exemplify leadership. More so, it confirmed what everyone already suspected about him.

As a leader in temporary staffing, Robert Half is really missing out by not trying to get in on this year’s Apple Cup.

Score: UW 5 - WSU 4

You heard it here first.

Making my every once in awhile appearance here just to again comment that you have more faith in your offense than they deserve... FG and a Safety against our two Safetys which I think is pretty generous for you to think you can get in FG range....

Good to see you're still here! Have a great Thanksgiving.
