According to Matt Mumme (Hal's Boy), whom is currently coaching at LaGrange College, in GA, is quoted as saying, In 2014 Air Raid teams in all divisions combined for 51,693 passing yards and 416 TD's."

Now that's a lot of yards and TD's.

That's nice but there is no context. How many teams are running the Air Raid? What are the per-team averages? What are non-Air Raid teams doing as a baseline?

I don't think many people can objectively argue that variations of the air raid can be very prolific. WSU's problem right now is that our roster isn't at the point where we can tweak it to make it game-plan specific, nor can we stop ANYONE on defense.

In the pros, what makes the Patriots offense so hard to account for is that they can rush for 200+ yards one week, and the next week, win a game by throwing it every play.

In college, and where I hope WSU evolves to, building a consistent offensive line and recruiting QB's who are just mobile enough to make opposing defenses pay when they drop everyone into coverage, is the secret to a successful air raid.

Fast tempo, short passes, the occasional home run ball, deceptive running plays with small, fast RB's, and a QB (like Russell Wilson) who drives you crazy with their annoying 8 yard runs.

Agreed. That's where I put it on Mumme and his quote. Take it as anecdotal as you wish. I thought it obvious there was nothing hard hitting about the numbers other than "Wow!" kinda thing. Off-season banter is all this is.
