Nobody does less with more than Alex Grinch.
Haha, yeah. But the contrast between a decent to good defense, in Oregon, and Grinch's usual underperformance, is plain as day.

Yeah. CU should pump the brakes on their big offensive effort today. They forgot they were playing against an Alex Grinch defense. Not sure why Riley sticks with him.
You wonder whether he is in charge of who is recruited on defense and what type of defense is run. Because if "speed kills," why isn't USC's defense very quick? Mike Price, for example, approved every recruiting offer, and had to be begged and pleaded with to extend an offer to Steve Gleason. And he still needed a come to Jesus moment before adopting Mike Zimmer's speed defense philosophy. Leach could extend great freedom to his DCs because, traditionally, his defenses were dreadful, and what could it hurt. But Riley's defenses were weak well before Grinch showed up, and continue to be, despite "high end" recruiting.
