I think a school like Wyoming - which I generally like as they bring a unique western geography and brand - would finance their own departure and come to the Pac-12 on a discount. The imbedded article in your link (below) gives a better and pretty good recap. It also answers my question on what happens to Texas State's buyout on July 1. From 5M to $10M.
I don't want Texas State, they are too far away. As The Mighty Loyal One has opined before. I don't want any of those back East schools. As also opined, if Texas State was in Cali or Arizona or wherever, they would be appealing. But not more than Wyoming. Or obviously UNLV. And given that they are damn near as far as Hawaii, given their location I don't place them above this board's group of MWC bottom feeders. So there.
All that said, the July 1 $5M clock makes me think an announcement is likely. No reason not to wait until the last minute to announce what the almost Mystic Loyal One announced 2-3 months ago.

College realignment intel: Texas State, cryptic posts and the Pac-12's next move
Texas State looms as the favorite to join the Pac-12. Why could that happen? What would come next? And what about Memphis?www.espn.com
I like the school that makes Network Executives stand and say, “Add “that” team and we’re in for $20,000,000 per team, per year.
Wyoming boosters have so much oil money it would make your head spin.I think a school like Wyoming - which I generally like as they bring a unique western geography and brand - would finance their own departure and come to the Pac-12 on a discount.
I hope we are using these media leaks as negotiation tactics with school who want to be here and who would provide value. I'm open minded to San Jose St., merely from a geography perspective, as well. At this point the media numbers are pretty much set it would appear.
Not a Power 4 budget. But maybe the bureaucracy. They don’t exist.
WSU will end up with a minor league schedule, a minor league media contract and a Power 4 budget and bureaucracy, in my opinion.
He meant "Power 4 budget for bureaucracy" I'm sure. Not a Power 4 budget. But maybe the bureaucracy.
