Arbuckles buyout

Hire one of the Cougar Collective board members as a consultant to the athletic department for $450k. Turns around and makes a “donation” to the Collective.

Problem solved.

No problem, except for the six figure tax liability for any Cougar Collective board member naive enough to agree to this. Donations to the Collective are not deductible.

Eh the NCAA doesn’t have any rules. Now that Trumps gonna be president the IRS will pretty much cease to exist. Easy peasy.

H, I don't think it would be a tax liability if one gives them after tax money. I guess there could be an opportunity cost of not being able to itemize and deduct those dollars from other income, thus avoiding some tax on the other income.

Just my thoughts, but I am NOT a tax attorney, CPA, or someone that stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
