Hadn't really been following it, but here we are. 18-36, 11-19 (last place) in the MW. Missed their tournament. So much for "Back to Omaha".

I see that BSU, CSU and USU don't play Baseball. So our glorious new league will have 5 Baseball-playing schools? That will be fun.

I did watch the UNLV @ WSU games a couple of weeks ago. Cougars have a nice stadium and the cameras and video feed to the MW Network was very good. UNLV was having a great second half of the season and then got blasted by SDSU at the tournament. SDSU wasn't that good this season. Today is the final for the championship between SJSU and Fresno St.

I don't know yet if it's going to happen but GCU (Grand Canyon) may join the conference sooner since they decided not to go to the WCC. That will give us 9 teams next season.

Hey Meister, good to see you.

Could be 10 if OSU signs on for 2026. And 10 after that after the Pac-7 folds and must come begging the MW to let them in. :)

Are you saying that OSU might stay independent? I wouldn't blame them. I would imagine that the Pac wouldn't sponsor baseball without them. I would think you have to have as many as 6 or 7 baseball teams to be sponsored by a conference. It's possible the baseball teams get the ax in the future with the potential cost cutting anyway with the House vs NCAA case fallout. But, who knows.

Meister_Rebel nice to see you here again. Congrats on all the preseason top 25 predictions UNLV football has received. I have to admit I didn't see that one coming. But maybe the top 25 predictions are why Canzano thinks there's still a good chance the PAC-12 still wants UNLV.

When I had lunch with the Beaver buddies (I'm an Oregon Stater) a few weeks ago, I brought up the issue of staying independent vs playing in the PAC-12. The guys who really know baseball and follow the Beavs closely were adamant that the Beavers should play a PAC-12 baseball schedule. That's because the winner of the conference will get an automatic berth in the NCAA playoffs.

Meister_Rebel: By the way, if you're here looking for information on UNLV to PAC-12, then we have to admit we really don't know much about it. Speculation has been if the Mountain West doesn't make enough money from the PAC-12 for poaching fees and exit penalties, then UNLV will leave the MWC for the PAC-12.

Here's Tuesday, May 20th with Canzano:
Canzano won't quit talking (Jason Puckett Show on Youtube)
He starts talking about mediation at 8:28 and mentions UNLV at 12:09.

Here's Friday, May 23rd with Canzano & Wilner:
Canzano & Wilner on Youtube speculating on what's happening with mediation
UNLV also mentioned here.

Dave - I see that your Beavs (and Whoregon) get to host super regionals next weekend. Along with 8 SEC teams. Kinda interesting to see both Oregon schools hosting. Who would have thunk.

Puke on the Ducks being in the tournament. Uncle Phil's money is causing more trouble.

Both Beavers and Ducks are hosting regionals. Beavers appear to be seeded #8, so if they can get through regionals, then they should be hosting a super regional.

Ducks appear to be seeded #12, so while they're hosting a regional, if they get past that then they may not host a super regional.

Nice to see that St Mary's, Fresno State, and UC Irvine are in the tournament. Southern Cal and St Mary's are coming to Corvallis for the regionals.

No, I won't be going to the regionals as my nephew is competing in Special Olympics next weekend. Tickets for Beaver baseball are very hard to get anyway. Bummer as it would be fun to chat with USC fans about conference realignment.
