Big HC hire for Big Cats.

Good luck. Might be a home run. You know he knows how to do all the things that got Baylor to the top. But can he run a program? We're about to find out.

I was really surprised that Weber failed to stick there. His rep was that he could win with other coach's players but not his ow. However, he was able to win a Big 12 title and make it to the Elite 8 in 2018 with his own players. Then the bottom fell out. One of my cohorts used to be a fan of Weber and supported him even before 2018.....but he had given up on him by the middle of this season. Too much talent to be as mediocre as they were.

You are only as good as your last performance. Or last 2 performances. When you get to the last 3 performances, your hot seat is radiant.

HCFM was so grateful to become HC when Huggie left for WV. He was very colorful, animated & popular here.

But when John Currie replaced Tim Weiser as AD, HCFM just couldn't put up with ADJC constant micromanaging, so he took the first opening he could get in March of '12 @ South Carolina.

The HCBW hire by ADJC was a real head scratcher for us because he was fired @ Illinois.
That & he was a polar opposite personality & coaching style from HCFM were the reasons (most of the) fan base never could buy into him. But he did not cheat & did everything the right way. He was very old school.

Winning the B12 & going to the E8 only bought him time so it was only a matter of time before he couldn't hold out any longer. Attendance became abysmal @ the Octagon toward the end.

HCBW is a genuine class act & a decent person so he retired instead of getting fired. We all respect him for that.

We made a big $ offer to HCBU @ Illinois. He played & asst. coached here. He is a Kansas native. This was his dream job. So for HCBU to turn us down would be as unthinkable as you pulling for the Huskies. Bigger head scratcher. But HCJT seems like a smash hit & a good fit for us 👍
