Get Memphis, Tulane, St. Mary's and move on. Dicking around on anything else is idiotic.

Premiere basketball league. Legit #5 football league, maybe #4 under certain circumstances.

Kick Texas State to the curb. Nobody in Texas is watching Texas f'ing State.

The Pac-12 needs to add at least two football playing schools for insurance. If the Big 12 comes knocking and someone bolts (exit fees be damned), at least have enough teams to maintain FCS status. Otherwise it's right back to the drawing board.

Any of the current Pac 12 football playing members would bolt in a second.

It seems likely that the Texas State University System Board of Regents will vote this Monday for Texas State (TXST) to accept the PAC-12's offer for conference membership. If I'm not mistaken, Oregon State athletic director Scott Barnes has said he's like 9 football schools so that each school will have 8 conference football games. 9 football schools would leave only 4 non-conference games to schedule in a 12 game regular season.

One idea that has floated recently is for Memphis to put their football team in the PAC-12 and the rest of their sports in the Big East. Parking the Olympic sports in the Big East would save on travel costs. While Memphis athletic director states that his goal is to put Memphis in a Power 4 conference, PAC-12/Big East membership would greatly help improve Memphis' "image". Then in 5 or 6 years when the next round of realignment takes place, Memphis could try to get recruited by the Big-12 or ACC.

Now that the media deal of some kind has been announced and Texas State is on the way, the next thing to follow just might be whether or not Memphis joins the PAC-12/Big East.

What a stupid idea. You're either all in...or all out...of a conference.

Memphis and Tulane would add good competition, but for those fans preaching "regional-focused"...is that really a "regional" conference?

WSU should kill athletics, and become an academic powerhouse and move along. College athletics is DOA.

WSU and OSU do not matter anymore. At least in the past, they could have a dream season and make some noise nationally and be respected. Now? It's just sad. F*ck over UW and UO in academics by being best in the state.

What will be devastating is when Gonzaga and Boise State go to the Big 12 along with Memphis and somebody like Creighton or St Mary’s.
