Did everyone see the new promotion by the donkoes? They are giving away free tickets to fans who attend home wins and go to the next game too. Their home games are against UCF...who will bring no fans, FCS North Dakota, a terrible San Jose St team, a terrible Wyoming team, a terrible New Mexico team and Air Force when the weather is likely going to be terrible. The computers are suggesting a close loss in the game against UCF....but it's free tickets for the rest of the year if they get over that hump.

Half of their regular season home games failed to sell out last year and only 24,000 people showed up for their MWC championship game in their home stadium. Looks like WSU isn't the only place that isn't pulling in fans when the cold weather strikes or for less popular opponents.

It’s the perfect promotion for fair weather fans.

Doesn’t seem like much benefit to BSU though. If they win, their gate receipts go down. If they lose, people don’t want to come anyway.

Could piss off season ticket holders too. Why should they pay full price when the guy in the next seat maybe pays $20 per game?

Would love to see ND crush them. I lived there during the Petersen years and while I love the city, I frickin despise their fans.

79, I've never spent any time in Boise, Ida.

Are the BSU fans as bad as those at UO and UW?

How the hell did they get UCF to go 3,000 miles to BFE Boise?

As far as t-shirt wearing, yes. As far as annoying and arrogant, yes. As far as education? No, not even close. I waved the game day flag when it was in Boise and I was living there. Some of the crap I heard from those people was absolutely ridiculous and they were saying it right in front of their own little kids.

Tell us that story. What I read quite a while back is that security wasn't going to let the flagpoles in (Gameday was inside the stadium right?) And the Gameday people rushed over and said, no, they are coming in. That summarize it pretty well?

Pretty much. We all met up as a group outside of the stadium before the game. There were probably a dozen of us. We started to go into the gates and security made us leave the flags outside. They said no flags inside the stadium. So one of the guys ran over behind some outbuildings that were inside the stadium and tossed them over the fence. So they were laying there. Once we got inside the stadium we were of course all standing around talking is a group trying to figure out what in the world we were going to do. One of the ESPN field producers came up and said hey, Wazzu guys, where are the flags?. We told him what went down and he laughed shook his head and said oh no, we're not going to have that. Next thing you know he's on his little radio and he's got the head of the Boise State security standing in front of him reading to him the riot act. It was basically these guys and only these guys can bring in their flags. If you want this show to go on you'll allow the flags in. The Boise State security guy reluctantly agreed. And then the ESPN guy turned to us and said okay, where did you hide them? We all kind of laughed and the ESPN field producer made the Boise State head of security escort us to go over and retrieve the flags! It was classic.

F-ing hilarious buddy. Wish I could have seen that. Goddam Boise State. Why Gameday ever went to that deserted wasteland is beyond me. But good job man. And good job to Gameday. They love us. "we are not going to have that". "If you want this show to go on". Classic. Stupid F-ing Idaho rednecks. Good job Gameday.

Christ buddy. I've read your post about 10 times now. I could read it a hundred times and still laugh. The ESPN guy made the BSU security guy go and retrieve the flags. "Wazzu guys, where are the flags?" F-ing classic.
