CAF to consider...

Very interesting and not a bad idea. I was unaware of that. I think that I will send an email to the AD or CAF suggesting that they read this thread and consider utilizing some form of these CAF t-shirt campaigns. Will post the summary of whatever reply I receive.

WSU marketing folks probably will come up with a slogan like this: COUG(h) IT UP!

T-shirts are one thing. Polo becomes a whole other demon to fend off. Stay away from anything that could be construed as "individualized". Polo shirts start delving into "style", then you'll have to determine mens vs women's style and several other key issues. Been there, done that. BAD idea. Cost of the shirt is not the major concern here.

Also, students (most likely) being the ones to make sure the paperwork is right, so the little lady doesn't get the XXL shirt is pretty darn important. "Do I need to lose weight?!?!?" The idea is easy to leap from t-shirts but it isn't… Trust me. With t-shirts, 50 smalls, 75 meds, 100 large, 100 XL, 50 XXL and be good for any given function. Style is fairly irrelevant as long as it promotes the given company, or in this case WSU. Extras will go to other events and make sure there is no date on them, i.e. "2016". Run out of sizes, "Take a small and give it to your kid" and it's accepted with a smile and a "Good idea!".

To use Ed's phrase but in a different light, "expectations" would be raised considerably with a Polo shirt over a T-shirt. Trust me on this one… Not trying to blow anyone up. Just have had this exact experience.

just to clear up a few facts...

Note the structure. Some of you may be surprised as to what level of significance you are. I think a polo shirt for Silver Cougars is already done and a Jacket at the Crimson level.

Here is a surefire lure (I could see you in one of these, chinook!)...

Five years ago, I knew a Nike rep who would outfit high school teams with team gear, equipment and clothing. For clothing, he would set up a limited time web site accessible only by a private link for a one time purchase of 'Exclusive' team wear.

(This would cost the AD literally $zero)

Each donor level gets to order the exclusive level item plus all previous items. Access is given via special link via email AFTER an aggressive 'look for it' campaign.

Jack up the prices!!! Tommy Bahama like.
The AD can comp/gift at certain levels.

When our group used it, 5 years ago, Orders were fulfilled by Nike via 3rd party vendor. 100% automated.

Another option...(I can see CougPatrol sporting this while watching his boys race around the RV in the third quarter)...

This guy is way too sophisticated (and has too much hair) to be mistaken for me, but my preferred tailgaiting beverage is whiskey. Again, not because I'm a wanna-be aristocrat, but because old age has caused me to get annoyingly bad headaches from chugging beer.

I don't usually get to see the Cougars win a home game, but when I do, I prefer Black Velvet. :D
