Cam Ward

Going into his 17th year of playing college football… he should have a great year.

Still some of the same not so good tendencies. Through across his body that resulted in a pick. Throws behind the receiver that Miami's talent turned into completions. He will put up good numbers. If they have a run game he will put up big numbers.

Florida isn't going to be any good this season...Napier is very much likely a dead man walking as coach there.
That doesn't matter right now. The Gators are a massive program in the State of Florida. The Swamp is a tough place to play, and Miami made it look easy. What's most notable (and a week 1 overreaction) is how bad the ACC looked. Look over Miami's schedule and tell me how many losses you see.

Miami looks like a playoff team, which again is a week 1 overreaction, and if they make it, it would be some great publicity for WSU in this NIL/Portal era.

It does matter. Florida wasn't much of anything before Spurrier. After a handful of coaches, they're third fiddle in the state of Florida.

The Swamp *used* to be a tough place to play. It's not now. And it won't be until they actually hire a coach who can...actually coach.

Anybody see the Ward quote. I don't have it exactly in front of me but when asked about the difficulty of playing against Florida he basically said that it was no where near as loud or difficult as playing against Washington.

It was a great quote. He went on to gush about how great WSU and the coaches were.

Miami's Cam Ward on The Swamp: "I played at USC. USC wasn’t packed, but it was louder than this. I played at Oregon and it was louder than this. The Pac-12 gets misspoken for. The Pac-12, that’s where I believe real football is played. ... Washington was one of the loudest environments I’ve played (in).”

Cam had a great game, one pick that look familiar, running around trying to make something happen, threw across his body across the field for an Int. No fumbles so that was a plus. Cam can look like a pro prospect when he doesn't try to create too much, he had time to throw, so he looked damn good. Keep in mind he looked great to start the year last year, then the UCLA defense did him in. I hope Cam has a great year and does well, nothing against him, worked hard and didn't cause any trouble and was a quiet leader, hopefully he gets drafted. People can be upset that he left, but get used to it folks, it's the new normal. Players used to leave early for the NFL, Leaf, Bledsoe, and others, now they just make more money by going to a blue blood program. Speaking of UCLA, interesting that UCLA's DC is now at USC, did a great job against LSU, with many of the same players Grinch had, coaching does make a difference.

I don’t think it’s as much about being upset he left as it is honest assessment of him as a QB. We had a lot of issues last year, starting with the OLine but Cam reverting to the old Cam as soon as he was under fire compounded everything. He has pro talent but he showed he wasn’t ready to go pro last year.

In the NFL you have to be able to handle pockets that aren’t clean, navigate the pocket, keep your eyes downfield, and take care of the ball. Cam had plenty of unclean pockets last year but after UCLA he started spinning around doing his Houdini shit which led to fumbles and unnecessary sacks. That will get a GM fired in the NFL. I’m hoping with a better line and running game he can stay the course this year and be an NFL guy. Certainly a good start, Florida has elite athletes and the swamp is not an easy place to play even when the Gators are down.

A 5th-ish round pick isn't going to get a GM fired.
