If a an NFL team could take a Bert Jones 1st in the draft..who wouldn't? That guy is GOOD.
He is probably one of the most over-hyped over rated coaches in CFB right now. LSU is good, but that OU defensive game plan today is garbage.
For a head coaching job? Their D has been pretty good all year, LSU is just too good.
ESPN must be torn. Their conference is winning, but this blowout might get some channel changers at half.
500 yards given up in the first half. Oklahoma recruits well too. I know the offense did not help.

Not the first time Sterk passed on an OU coordinator in favor of a lower level HC
I’m not defending Grinch but they don’t recruit for or play defense in the Big 12 and LSU has the best OLine, receiver, and player/QB in the country. This result was predictable...I’m not a gambling man but wish I would have put everything I own on LSU plus the points today. Oklahoma had no chance to slow them down, Buddy Ryan or Dick LeBeau would have given up 60 with that mismatch.
Also consider that LSU with Burrow may be a generationally good offense. They wiped the floor with Georgia in the SECCG and Georgia is one of the best defenses in the country. Literally every game for Burrow is an instant highlight reel for improbable throws and catches, pocket presence and stepping up, knowing when to hold it vs throw it vs tuck and run vs throw it away...
Grinch was incredibly overrated. Still surprising they got boatraced by LSU today. Absolutely zero answers.
Did I say anything about him getting fired? I was just pointing out it happens to more programs than WSU. WSU does not have the wiggle room to guess wrong on recruiting, development, or anything else that other programs have.
Grinch didn’t have a lot of defensive talent to work with when he arrived at Oklahoma. They were one of the worst defensive teams in the Nation. Another program that put all of their recruiting emphasis on the offensive side of the ball. This season, Oklahoma made one of the biggest defensive improvements in the Big12.
Not sure why so many people poke holes at Grinch. He did a great job while he was in Pullman and left for Ohio State. Can’t blame him for that.
I don't think our defense would be much better this year if Grinch had been our coordinator. Most of the guys we have been pulling out hair out over this year were his guys. We might have been better due to a simplified scheme, but our poor D-line play was the result of Grinch recruiting a bunch of 230 lb DE's and trying to turn them into DT's who don't take on blocks.
OU is loaded with talent. In 2017 they had 18 four star recruits In 2016 they had a five star and 7 four star recruits. They always are especially in relation to the rest of the big 12 excluding UT
