My ex gf just sent me this. I was at this game. Duck fans are the worst, I had more Ducks fans trying to
fight me...and I'm like we're not even rivals you jackass. Plus you don't know your fight song.

It was great

Allright sponge. We are scrapping on the other thread but his is pretty cool. I met Matt Kegel's Dad in Montana - what a nice guy. Talked Cougar football for half an hour. Gave him a printout of his son - "The Road Warrior" Got it saved somewhere.

I too, with my wife and our Coug friends from Clarkston were at this game in Autzen. What a glorious day it was ! Some guy in the stands pushed me hard when I stood up to cheer after it was out of reach (half time). What a bunch of assholes in Eugene! An older women 2 rows behind be tapped me on the shoulder and said that guys been an A-hole all season and said she was sorry for that. She was decked in vintage green & gold and was a good sport. We rode to the game with duck fans on there duck decked out bus from McMinnville and we sucked it up and kept it quiet on thee way back. That was a fun day!! it was right after the ducks were featured on the cover of SI, “Cool, rich and undefeated”. Sucked to be a duck that day!

This game is the reason I will never visit Autzen again. Physically assaulted all game by whatever fans could get their hands on to throw, and at one point a buddy stood up to cheer and his food went flying out of his lap towards the sidelines - OUR sideline. The jack-booted UO gestapo hauled him out of his seat and gave him a ration of shit for throwing food at OUR OWN PLAYERS, threatened expulsion from the game, jail, etc. Poor dude was literally in tears (the booze prob didn't help) by then end, and he was the nicest, sweetest farmer guy from Goldendale who never did anything to anyone. They ended up having us stand on the sideline for the remainder of the game (didn't do shit about the UO fans throwing ice, coins, etc) which was cool because we got to be with the team at the end, but we couldn't see shit over the players.

F Oregon. F their fans. F that city. Forever.

btw, anyone catch Kegel's line?

13-33? Good thing defense and special teams came to play. (I know he had three tds, but that comp % is laughable.)

Also, looking back at that season we had 24 picks. Man I miss those Doba defenses.

*** edit - more fun stats from that game. Fumbled 4 times, lost 2. 12 penalties for 95 yards (oregon had 7 flags).

Pretty hard to lose when your D gives you 9 extra possessions. There aren’t a lot of Coug games that have been more fun to watch than that one was.

I watched this game at the Ram in Puyallup with my ex-girlfriend where there happened to a bunch of Duck fans watching as well. I just remember how much I was in disbelief/awe while watching and making sure to be plenty loud so that duck fans around me would get very much annoyed. This was a level 10 beat down and I savored every minute of it.

Kind of forgot what a slaughter that was. Kegel was 13-33? Well 3 were TD's. Great day to be a Coug.
