Another great Fall on the Palouse as the combined FB, VB, and Soccer have a record of 18-1.
Soccer is in Hawaii and beat the host 1-0. They currently reside @ 6-1 and play Pepperdine Sunday.
V’Ball is playing a tourney in Texas and won this AM, and play TX Rio Grande Valley this afternoon. Current record is 9-1, but PAC12 will be more challenging as Jen has a bunch of Freshman and Sophomores in the line-up.
They’re quality players, and this team is being built for the next 2-3 year run.
Go Cougs!!!

I know it’s Coug FB time, I’m already sittin in Martin, but a shout out to women’s V’ball who is 11-1, winning w/2 seniors and 5 outstanding freshwomen. Leach rules, but Jen Greeny deserves some accolades.

Volleyball has been a peasant surprise to me. Most of last year's starters graduated and I firmly expected this season to be a rebuilding one, i.e a struggle. Gratified to be proven wrong again.

p.s. Shulenberger deserves a portion of the accolades too.

I sense the conference season will be a dose of reality. With a team full of Frosh, they’ll need to mature fast.
Timmer (6’2” Fr.), Lusby, (6’5” Fr.), Jehlarova (6’3” Fr.), and Bradley (6’4” So.) have been fantastic to go along w/Sr’s Urias and Dirige. Guessing Sr. Ashley Brown is injured, but freshman Hannah Pukis, has been stellar at Setter in her place.
After going11-1 in non-conf, we open up w/uw tomorrow in P’man. Go Lady Cougs!!!

Volleyball lost a ton but seemed to recruit well last year. I don't know how good the ooc schedule was this year but we will find out how good they are pretty quickly in conference with UW (#8) tomorrow then Cal (#21), UCLA, and SC (#25) on the road before coming home for #25 Oregon. We will probably see some growing pains but future looks bright.

OOC was not too challenging outside of Iowa who swept us 3 straight.
Timmer and Jehlarova are European, and played internationally so they may be further along than most freshman. You’re correct, the start of the PAC12 schedule is brutal.

Neither soccer or volleyball seemed to face overly challenging OOC schedules. Both teams will get a dose of ice water entering conference play as the Pac12 is a brutal gauntlet to have to run. We will find out soon enough whether their records are a true reflection of their quality or just fool's gold. Should be interesting.

Well...take that! Coug's win match 3-1 taking sets 2 through 4. Great game 1!
Either they’re really good or too young to know better :)
Outstanding win and out of the 97 points totaled, all but 11.5 were scored by all Frosh and 1 Jr.
The present appears more than competitive and the future looks extremely bright.
Way to go Coug Ladies!!!

Very nice result over a highly regarded uw volleyball team.

Now on to soccer as our ladies face another highly rated soccer team, Oregon State, this Saturday. Game to start at 7pm, unfortunately, same time as the Utah football game so I'll have to watch this one on the computer using two tabs and switch back and forth to keep track of both.

There were a lot of good performances from the freshmen but Pukis and Timmer really stood out. Pukis looked like she was having a great time making plays and even when something didn’t go her way.

Udub didn’t seem to know what hit them.
