Cougs 3 point dogs

Well when you can’t tackle one running back and a team comes at your with pretty much 3, +3 might be somewhat kind to us.

I’ll take WSU’s WRs over AFs DBs every day.

AF isnt gonna roll out huge kids on their line of scrimmage. The WSU DL should be favored over their OL. The WSU OL should be favored over their DL.

Can the defense handle their scheme? No idea. Should they be blown off the ball? No way.

If WSU cant score 49 or more Leach is not an offensive guru. AF is smaller, slower than WSU. If the offense cant light these guys up Leach’s air raid is stale and needs updating.

The DL needs to be disciplined and stay with their assignments and gaps, as well as the LB's, trying to get all 7 to move together and maintain their assignments isn't easy against the option and a difficult task for this D.

You can't score if they've got the damn ball. Got to get up early. If we fall behind early it'll be a long day.

Yes. Make an option team throw the ball to catch up.

No way should their DBs be able to run with WSU wrs. Or MB.

exactly right, and apparently what the oddsmakers think, they will keep the ball out of our O's hands

Air Force has averaged 19.8 points allowed per game. Setting the baseline for an ok offensive output at 49 is crazy. Air Force is going to limit the games possessions and I wouldn't be surprised if we don't get more than 8 total possessions. 7 TD's on 8 drives would be a darn good game.

Yes but this is essentially what we did against Stanford.

It takes discipline to run their offense. They obviously have that discipline or they would not have the record they do. It takes even more discipline to stop it. I haven’t seen that this year from our D.

Three points seems right.

They aren’t going to try and run with the receivers. They’ll have spent 3 weeks practicing an 8 man drop zone daring Cougs to run it and clogging up the short passing lanes. Will need to let Borghi gash them early so they have to adjust.

Until I watch the first quarter I would not want to make a guess on this game. If AF can control the clock then it could be tough for WSU.
If WSU scores early and often then AF may come out of their comfort zone.
What I will say is this: I get the sense that both teams are going to go for it on 4th down a fair bit. Whoever wins those 4th down plays comes out on top.

Hey, you guys remember when we were going to kill Colorado State?

With a qb many have compared our current qb to?

Good times...

Based on some of the comments I’ve read from AF’s fan and players, they seem to be really fired up about this chance to beat Leach and the Cougs. The team needs to show up and bring some energy to this game. Something that seemed to be lacking in previous bowl games IMHO. Better not underestimate these guys.

MB hasnt carried the mail all season. I dont see anything changing that now.

WSU needs to force their DBs to run. They have to throw deep and force the DBs to match speed.

Otherwise, same thing. Throw thru the bodies. Eliminate any athletic advantage you have over their DBs by playing to their strengths, not yours. Ugh.

I don't think AF can generate an effective pass rush, if they cant-then dropping 8 wont stop anything-what will stop us is if our defense cant keep their O off the field

Typical Loser Coug quote

Funny how you had to go back to 2013 to tear down the Cougs.

Good Times Have Happened the last 6.
GFY. This year has nothing to do with the last six, but way to project your insecurities about your dick size into others .Is that you TST?

How's that for a loser quote?

Any confidence that we're going to run AFA out of the stadium is foolish. The defense is garishly bad, and the offense is as jeckyl and Hyde as any we've seen. I fail to see how starting the obvious is traashing the team

Who knows, maybe our defense will perform better against the triple option than they did against the wide open P12 offenses?

AF's offense was decent this season, but they seem to be more of a defensive team. They scored 23 vs. Colorado, 19 vs. Boise St, 25 vs. Navy, 17 vs. Army, and 20 vs. Wyoming. Their best offensive performance was at Hawaii where they blew up for 56 points, but Hawaii gave up 50+ points 3 times this season, 40+ 5 times, and 30+ 9 times.

I can't say that I'm optimistic about our chances given the way we've played this season, and while I can see our defense getting trucked again, I can also see the Air Force defense struggling to deal with an offense they haven't seen all season. WSU has faced elite offenses this year, Air Force has not. That has to be a data point worth recognizing.
