The cougs won today 90-83 in a game which was not that close over UC Davis. (opps) which was 9-1 coming into game. it was a good tuneup for the cougs entering PAC 12 play

The Cougs shot the ball well in their win over UC Davis. They were in control the whole way. Still things to be worked on - too many lapses on defense for one, but I am amazed that they are 6-6 after seeing them play early in the season. Don't get me wrong, they will be lucky to win a handful of Pac-12 games, but I like the improvement.

Go Cougs!!!

They are capable of winning about 6 PAC 12 games. It will be rough on the road but they will do well at home.I expected them to be 6-6 at the worst and about 8-4 at the best. The better coaching is starting to make a difference. There were only about 4-5 D1 players available to Kent when he started out. He needs to coach up the team which suffered from poor coaching and a lack of talent last year.It takes time to build confidence and stop bad habits in a dispirited group of players.

That is what strikes me most about this team--the improvement from the first few games. And Railey's play is one of the most notably improved. He is beginning to look like a competent ballplayer. Kent and his cohorts must be pushing the right switches.

You are exactly right. The improvement is very noticeable. Like I said though, they still need to get better.

Go Cougs!!!

I would add Johnson as well. He has the talent but has struggled with focus and consistency on both ends of the court. If he can put it together he's the 3rd scorer they need to find. Railey has become a solid contributor off the bench. His confidence has obviously grown from last season and it shows in his play.
