Happy days for ElC. Curtis is headed to Pepperdine - announced on his twitter. I hope his replacement is someone who can coach a little defense.

Was rumored along with Bone and makes a lot of sense.

Not sure why it makes a lot of sense unless Allen knows something that we don't, like CEK is not long for WSU. Certainly the Pepperdine gig has to be a pay cut. Possibly a significant one - going from the top? assistant at WSU to #3 at best at Pepperdine?

Unfortunately I can't find College BB coaches salaries as easy as FB. Too many teams I guess. And it is no stepping stone for Allen, as Bone would be the logical successor to Romar.

I would be surprised if Bone got another head coaching job at a D1 school. He is about 60 years old now and not the most dynamic recruiter or program booster. He is a great basketball mind and is where he should be - an assistant that coaches practice and prepares/implements game plans.

59. And hilarious, I googled him to find out, and one of the pictures that showed up was that other Ken Bone from Montana that appeared on something - a Presidential debate maybe? Can't figure out how to copy it. Link works.

Comfort zone and trust with Romar/Bone as much as anything. Isn't he considered #3 on the totem pole for us? He's #2 at Pepperdine and given history with Romar probably will have a bigger role on the staff.

I would bail out as well with folks like Elsie not thinking he has been recruiting very well.

Wait - Allen is #2 ahead of Bone? Uhh....doubtful unless you have a link to this. Or unless you mean the #2 assistant. I was phrasing it as Romar is #1, and so on....

Someone can correct me but #3 assistant at WSU but should be #2 assistant at Pepperdine.

This is a step up for the program. I am sure the handwriting was on the wall I stated that Allen was just not getting the job done. I am sure that the other assistant coaches knew that the point man on recruiting was not getting it done.I wish Allen well and he is in a spot where he has a boatload of talent in California to recruit basically D 11 players. The expectations will be lower than at a PAC 12 team

I guess that his salary at Pepperdine will be perhaps one half of what he currently makes Allen was a huge mistake by Kent when he kept him. Water seeks it s own level. I wish the three men in a tub well at Pepperdine but the cast does not look good,More on the cougs as the recruiting process unfolds into the April to May signing period. Ir will be interesting to see what Kent does with the coaching slot
