Dan Laning extended

you're not that daft.

or maybe you are.
This is what happens when you are house rich, penny poor and deeply in debt. Bill Moos' gift that keeps on giving. Not saying that Jake is in line for an extension/pay boost right now, but having that option (which we lack) in your back pocket is important.

Point being is that no coach in their right mind is going to turn down generational money to stay in the Palouse because its the right thing to do. If CJD can put together two winning season in a row he will have suitors with $5MM in hand, and WSU will just have to sit there and play with their tiny phallus while the tall, handsome rich kid goes balls deep in their spouse. But what's new, right?

Every situation is different. Believe it or not there are exceptions. If $6M is generational money so is $4M. Washington also doesn’t have state income tax. And pullmans about the lowest COL you’ll find at least out west. If the dickerts truly like Pullman and want to keep their young family settled down, we stay in the general ballpark we will be fine.

There’s a helluva lot more pressure in that next job too. There’s a graveyard full of coaching careers from those who ditched the smaller school for the big time and we’re unemployed in a couple of years.
