You get one of the following choices...

1. Wazzu gets 10-2 seasons every year with a blowout (18+ points) loss to the dogs every season and the other loss being to a Pac12 South team, or...

2. 8-4 every year with a win over the dogs 30 percent of the time (roughly our historical performance) and the losses to 3 or 4 other Pac12 teams (rotating randomly among teams), or...

3. 6-6 every year with a win over the dogs 60 percent of time and the losses to 5 or 6 other Pac12 teams (rotating randomly among teams)?

I speechified other losses to Pac12 teams...no non-conference losses (which obviously matters when considering the scenarios).

Which, fellow Wazzu fans, would you take? No other choices available.

I know, it is a ridiculous hypothetical, but I'm genuinely curious what you would choose.

So tired of our fan base being defined by the Apple Cup. Get over it. We’re 10-2 with the best PAC 12 record. We are on our way to an NY6 bowl. Life is way better than the decade of darkness we came out of. If we bring home an NY6 trophy, this will be the best year our program has witness, period.

I'd take #1 too. But I want to see if any were willing to win less if we performed better in the AC...or even won >50 percent.

I'd take 10-2 every time.

My season would simply end at 10-1 until the bowl came. Maybe take a vacation for thanksgiving where there is no TV. Honestly, I'm almost there right now.

They have to be mutually exclusive ?

I’m taking #3

10-2. This was easy, even though I hate losing to that stinking dump in Montsewer.

#1...though fingerdisco's picture makes a compelling case for #3.

10-2 is the obvious choice from your list. If we aren't at least competing for a championship on a regular basis, what's the point? By the way, voting for choice #3 is basically voting for Doba to be back.

First off, if we can't ever beat the mutts then we will never compete for a championship. So Option 1 eliminates winning the Pac-12. Ever. Of course so do the other options.

Me, I like Option 4. Go 4-8 every year, but beat the mutts EVERY year. Apple Cup becomes our Bowl game. We get to give all mutts the bird every day of every year. :)

Flame away..........

That says it all.

Not true. You forgot their sordid Willingham years...Lambright years...Sark years apparently.

We don't know that UW will make smart coaching hires after Petersen. They've shown some stupidity before. They'll show it again I'm sure.

Some might be abstaining because they don't want to vote for one of your options. Personally, I've always said that I'd be satisfied with WSU hitting the following 3 year cycle: 6-6, 8-4, 10-2 (or better) with us going 40/60 with the mutts in overall win percentage. Leach has been able to keep us at 8+ wins for the past four years which exceeds my bottom end hopes. I don't expect to win 10+ games every year but I want to be relevant most years and beat the mutts more often than we have. Of course....that doesn't follow the rules of the OP.
