F*cking snow. I never thought I’d see the day WSU would lose an AC in the snow.

I hate an odd front. The way they coached it up Im fine with. Honestly, this was the best coaching job in the nation this year. The DL is soooo small. They found a way to win 10 games.

I wrote weeks ago that if I were calling plays against the WSU defense my stragey would be to run as many big bodies at them as possible. Force them to take on and get off blocks. Essentially stampede them.

CP took my advice. 3 TE sets forced all 11 into the box. Now it’s Wrestle Mania in a small space.

Bear with me here... ever see the 100 meter in the Olympics? Ever see how much attention to detail the runners take with their starting blocks? It has to be perfect. In a longer race, the start doesnt matter so much. In the 100m it is crucial....

If youre going to be a 250lbs DL taking on a 320lbs OL.... your starting blocks have to be perfect. Youre not going to out muscle him. Youre not going to get off his block once he puts the mitts on you. You have 1 advantage. Speed off the ball. The snow erased that. Then they formationed you into playing a brand of football youre bad at. Bad footing, all 11 in the box, run right at you. Game over.

I like the speed D. I think its a good fit for WSU. I think they can get good kids to play in it. The DL has to be bigger. They need to be 6’4” or taller, 275-285 type of kid. A big basketball player looking kid. Long levers, good athlete. The kind of kid other schools will pass on because he wont be able to get to the weight they want him at.

They have done well with it. Moving away from it now would be a mistake. Just grow your DNA into the scheme. It’s already taken you to 10 wins. Now youre gonna change? Start all over? No. Get better at it.

I'm looking forward to seeing what McDougle can do on the D Line. I'd also take THE RIGHT JC DL if such thing exists.

Our problems in 2014 and the attrition we had two really important players are not on this team, and a kid who could grow into the part never materialized. Tapa, Canty, Hercules. Then the one DT with size the following year in Toki never making it in and the inability to get DT into teh program created a huge talent gap on the Dline.

What they did this year was amazing. But Peterson was the one coach who was not going to abandoned his run game. USC went untouched the first drive and then moved away from their run game.

Oregon never used their run game. Neither did Arizona. And them fact our offense was able to jump on them hid our vulnerability.

The UW center pancaked Rodgers, like he was 215 pounds.

You are correct, we need to improve our DNA on the Dline. Even if you have to go the Mike Price model and get a Gary Holmes at 230.

Also, they may want to consider being flexible enough where they have a four man line, even though that is exactly what they do now, but put a true DE out there that can set the edge.

Claeys coached his worst game on Friday. The third and long in second half that they decided to rush three was maybe his worse call all year. Get their offense off the field deep in their own territory.

But he gets an A plus for taking this defense where he did. But he better have something in the works next year cause the blue print is out.

Stop you idiot. Just stop.

2014 class has nothing to do with it because they would be 5th year RS Seniors. If..if..they weren’t beat out or didn’t leave early or whatever.

Your mythical 2014 excuse doesn’t add up not once not ever because during that span from 2015-2018 we achieved 9/8/9/10 win seasons.

While it’s no surprise Ed has blown it on the details, there has been a lot of attrition at the DL position.

Disagree with your take on the blue print is out. Most of the interior line was either played by a previously little used undersized walkon, a previously little used senior, an undersized senior, an undersized transfer junior who had only played football two years and a bunch of undersized sophomores and freshman.

The Speed D is not the interior lineman, but the back seven. Improve the interior and that opens up the back seven to fill and run around making tackles.

I thought our defense played poorly on Saturday. They were gashed on the ground in big situations.

Tackling was bad, they were taking bad lines and getting beat around the edge, and giving up huge chunks of ground to wide open receivers.

The defense probably does just fine in good weather, but the Ediotic narrative just won't die. As for DNA, there's a reason Biggs tagged him as Ediot.

I know it doesn't make sense to you. When Jeremy Williams lined up his last year, what was he in terms of his athletic eligibility? I believe he was a REDSHIRT SENIOR was he not? Tai Tupai? Leon Bender? Gary Holmes? Robert Barber? Daniel Eukale? And if Taylor Comfort was recruited, wouldn't he be a redshirt senior?

Kingston Fernandez, Tapa, Canty, Toki and no other DT in the 15 class is why we don't have big bodies to pick from and that is why we were so small.

if there was not one player who contributed from 2014 WSU still would have had similar success.

WSU did not have big bodies that could have been around from the 14 and 15 classes. Mature bodies.

What did UW average on the ground. And take out the long run and then tell me what they average per carry. They ran the clock out with how many minutes left in the 4th quarter. UW if they wanted could have scored in the last minute, and thanks to Browning they were set to score on their first drive as well.

Their offense beat up our defense as painful as that is to admit. And they have now done it like 5 times in a row.

And your 2014 narrative predicted a huge collapse this season. You were wrong. Again. Shut the hell up.

Why would I shut up. We just got boat raced and I gave an analysis why. You give "it was the weather" like we play in southern Cali. Does it not get cold, wet and windy in the Palouse in the month of November?

How do you explain OSU getting over 200 yards rushing? How do you explain the UW? We are woefully undersized and thin on the defensive line.

And yes I predicted a 5-7 season. I blame you because you didn't tell me the Transfer would play far above anything he ever accomplished before. He is a career 58% passer.

There was zip to suggest he was a Heisman candidate.

I wouldn’t say we got boat raced. UW deserved that game, but I would love to play them again. As bad as it was, we had the ball with the chance to take the lead in the 4th.

I begrudgingly agree with you but only because we are pot committed to the 34 now.

I still contend that it is easier for a school like WSU to recruit to the 43 than to find a difference maker at NT, which is essentially what you need if you're ever going to stuff the run against a school like UW.

It’s the way they play it. Otherwise I would agree that 43 is easier to recruit to.

Stuffing the run for this defense means penetrating. If youre looking for someone to stand up an OL and take on blocks, wrong scheme.

They truly run a 4-3 . They just play it with a linebacker . They just need bigger bodies
