Hi, just spoke with the WSU Ticket Office about the Alamo (!!) Bowl tickets I bought through WSU. For reference, our CAF rank is between 800 and 900. The four tickets I bought are in Section 108, which is a corner end zone section. Total cost was $580 for the four tix. I know some are pissed off about cost and location of tickets purchased through WSU, but in my experience this is how the bowl system works, and I'm over it. We're just buying some tickets through WSU to support our team and help toward meeting WSU's required allotment.
I asked WSU about donating them -- and it turns out it's very easy to do -- just call the ticket office and tell them you can't use them, and they will either give them to WSU students traveling to the game or local military folks in San Antonio. A good option for those who can afford the charity.
If we can make it to San Antonio (work and family commitments may keep us away, unfortunately), we'll buy better seats through Stubhub or VividSeats.
I think this will be our plan for future mid-tier bowls -- buy two tickets through WSU to support the team, and donate them. Then buy good tix to use if we can make the game.
