Here is a small consideration that maybe some aren't taking into account. The below players are the JUCO's that are coming in, that were not in the Spring Game. I would wager, while not at 100% ready and fully submerged, these guys could easily make an impact immediately.

Treshon Broughton 3Star DB
Shalom Luani 3Star DB with a legit 4.5x40
Jeremiah Mitchell 2Star DE (This MAN might be a 2star but he shouldn't be… He's vicious AND big. He was also at the C&G game, fyi)
Aaron Porter 3star LB

Now 1.) combine these players with the current players coming back (for what that's worth) and also 2.) the freshman coming in that will also push everyone (doubt they will start but maybe), AND 3.) Grinch whom by all accounts is breathing new life into the Dark Side, I truly do look forward to seeing how far this D squad will come this year.

The incoming true freshman (on D) I'm excited to see? Not a full list and others might be just as exciting but these guys stand out on paper/video.
Sean Harper Jr 3star DB out of GA
Logan Tago 2Star LB out of Pago Pago
Thomas Toki 4star DT out of CA
Hunter Dale 3star DB out of LA
Kameron Powell 3star DB out of CA

Just thoughts… Instead of looking at the "glass half empty", thought looking at it as "glass half full" might be refreshing. We are building. I'd disagree that it's "HALF empty" btw. I'd say we have more positives than negatives. No 50/50, IMHO.

You are a complete ass. You're trying to pick a fight.
I'm trying to hold a rational fact based discussion.

All I seem to be attracting are Internet trolls bent on hurling personal insults while ignoring the facts?

Btw, how many WSU recruits did YOU drive to Pullman so they could watch practice, meet coaches and players, tour facilities and campus? (I know, loaded question, right?)

No, it's a fact. You are being an ass right now. I place a thread that says, "Glass half full" meaning I'm being optimistic and you somehow think that's an opportunity to down the program and then veil it as "fact". Hint: We've read your posts, over and over about how we are a losing program. Doesn't mean you have to spray your vitriol on ALL the threads. So in that light, I'd look in the mirror to see whom the troll is.

To your question, how many recruits did I drive to Pullman… None. I have said time and time again, I am a freelancer. I work in the TV industry. So I'm at quite a few games. That is all. Many times so busy I don't/can't see all that I wish I could. But you keep digging about how I'm must the SID or something. I promise you, I'm not Bill. I'm not an employee of WSU. I'm an employee of myself, seeing how I own my own business. And it's not based in Pullman, NOR Spokane.

No, you are being a troll. In a post that brings up positives of the program, you say say smirkingly that "WSU will remain a losing program until we actually... wait for it... win"

It is a totally troll post. You did not disagree with his positives or have a different take on the players. You just trolled.

I didn't read your last post the minute I encountered yet another personal attack you've become famous for, I stopped.

Instead, I will add another fact:

EVERY PAC 12 TEAM BRINGS IN 25 NEW PLAYERS THIS FALL WITH 9 OF THOSE TEAMS BRINGING IN HIGHER RATED TALENT.

And all I was pointing out, were a few players I thought were going to be good and hopefully contribute to the hole(s) we have, as a program. But please, continue to bash our program… I'm not disputing the PAC 12 recruiting rankings that Rivals has, nor our record…

Other than "WE SUCK", what's your point? What are you contributing to this discussion?

I don't even wear a skirt. Get off your knees and stop trying to blow smoke up it.

We are a two win team. Every team is trying to get better. Nearly all of the teams in our conference are trying to improve with better athlete's than what we've attracted in the past year and/or decade.

I hope we start winning. If we have the right guy, we will.

I'll take the high road here. I'm excited about the new kids coming into the program. It is my belief that the talent is being upgraded in Pullman! I look forward to see what Grinch puts on the field this fall. I'll be there to see every game and most likely a few out of town games as well.

Never did I say "We Suck"

That is a value judgement I did not make and makes a liar out of anybody choosing to display their personal character flaws claiming it.

I said we are losers, have been for more than a decade and will remain so until we win.

Sorry… so inaccurate of me. I'll redu…. You keep saying "WE'RE LOOOOSSSEEERRS!". (Because there are a boatload of "losers" that don't "suck". But I get the thread your trying to split. It all depends on what the definition of "is" is, right?)

Again. What are you contributing? Just that blanket statement that we are "losers"? Great. Thanks for the input. That was heavy duty stuff and mind bending. Now please move along.

We are losers because we lose.

We will be winners when we win.

Simple fact.
Again, thanks for the input. Deep stuff there. We'll call you Socrates from now on. Maybe Nietzsche would fit better.

You've now said, basically the same thing 3 times in one thread. Got it. Repetition is not your friend.

You should start an "Are we Losers?" thread- this one felt like it was going to be about what the JUCO guys would contribute to the defense.

Hopefully a good bit, I'd say. Porter and Luani seems to fill specific needs with talent that, at least according to the evaluators, improves the D.

Water is wet until it evaporates.

Absolutely brilliant commentary, you should hook up with Madden and you two could discuss how water and dirt make mud.

The real question is, why did it take you 3 times to understand such a basic, indisputable fact?

I don't want it to be true, I want us to start winning. We've discussed 'bright spots' and signs of improvement forever, now. That led us to a decade of futility.

Attendance this fall will prove whether Cougar Nation believes we're on the cusp of greatness or if we're in for more of the same.

It didn't take me 3 times. First time, I just called you out for your negativity. Remember, when I called you an ASS? But I didn't question our record nor our Rival's Team Recruiting standings. Second time, i used the "We Suck" comment but didn't argue your brilliant, yet redundant, point. Third time, I did the "redu" and corrected with the "WE'RE LOOOOSSSEEERRRS" and point blank asked your point? Fourth time (HUH! 4 times you repeated!), I then asked you again, and commented on your Nietzsche style. I never disputed your AWESOME and deep point of how "we are losers". Just thought it was misplaced on a thread about how we have a place to be optimistic. Again you are acting like a troll and you've made your point… AGAIN (so that's 5 times?). Now move along if you have nothing of value to add.

So our recruits are being exposed to your sh!tty, downer attitude? No wonder we can't break out of the talent cellar. Do us all a favor and stay away from them.

Naw. He's trying to "out me" as a part of the WSU athletic program or something. He's commented on this before over the past year or so. He's completely wrong, but that's nothing new. I'm just a Coug. I would probably agree he needs to stay away from our players/recruits, though.

Are you REALLY this insecure, Cougfanman95? try responding to the words that appear.

1. Stick to the facts.

2. Leave your personal attacks at home.

1. What facts have I gotten wrong?
2. Insecure about what?! You make me laugh… Like a little toddler that's trying to stick with the adults in a conversation. It just keeps going round and round and all the adults just smile and look at each other with that knowing look.

Don't be this kind of critic. Don't be a cold and timid soul, Fishie. Let this season play out and dependent on how it goes, there will be plenty of judgement to go around.

If you're going to contribute to this conversation, I'm still waiting. Otherwise, you're just making noise.

No, he made a point that he drove some kids to look at the campus. Surely, future UW students, what with the pride he has to sell WSU.

After more than a decade of hopium addicted desire to win, only to be slapped with the cold reality of consistent losing, I have shifted to a wait and see approach. But, hey, syringes are on the table... go for it.

The good thing is that since you're a uw fan that your actions did not constitute a recruiting violation. Well done.

Great contribution. Again, you've said your peace on this thread and many, many others (all in a couple days). We've got your message (how many times on this thread alone?). Anything else to contribute……... of value………... that isn't redundant?

Brilliant. Thanks. PLEASE come back when you have another epiphany.

But to move this forward, that is 2 JUCO DB's that could very well fill a hole. I truly hope so. The one question I have is, how many years do these JC's have at WSU? Is it just the normal 2?

Versus what drove a few good posters away from 2010 on? You know, the same criticisms you brought up almost four years removed. Like he had Barrington around until he did something illegal then got the boot versus a underage DUI where he didn't get the boot. You make the argument there wasn't discipline and you use two players who were kicked off as evidence. Chima was caught by a lineman and it is now the strength and conditioning coach's fault. Gibson didn't get drafted high enough and that was the coaches fault although he had the same position coach. I could go on and on. You know, Socal and I disagree about how long it takes to rebuild at WSU. But his argument is always the same. We aren't getting good enough players and that we are losing. It doesn't change from coach to coach. That is why he and I don't have these discussions. It is his belief it just has to get done and he holds each coach by the same standards.

Yes Ed, Chima was good enough his freshman year. So was everyone else that played in 2007 and sucked in 2008. Ed, the easiest and most logical answer is Wulff who got fired after one year at his last job.

They don't even need to necessarily be starters, just contributors. No team only players 11 players on offense and 11 players on defense.

I'd speculate that what drove people away from 2010 on was 2008-10, not message board sniping. Unless... were people really advocating hard for Wulff's fourth year, after three wins in three years? But that is what the coaches blamed for their failure, darn mean message boards.

That's a pretty healthy list of players you just ran down, worse for their time at WSU under the Wulff staff.

Had nothing to do with the staff, though.

I believe the single biggest wildcard in the secondary is Dotson. That kid showed some promise. If he's 100% healthy? I think he just might be that impact player in the secondary we are all looking for.

The Bennett's didn't even do as well three years in. There is a difference between taking a wait and see attitude and sarcastically trashing Leach's program.

Thank you. Was this so hard. He likely would have been a starter last season if not for his injury.
