Drick Bernstene ,the 6'8 220 pd Grad transfer is visiting WSU today. If the cougs land him,the cougs will become a very interesting team to watch this coming season

And if they don't land him, they will still be a very interesting team to watch this coming season!

Glad Cougar

Good to see that there has been a lot of progress by the Coach and staff in adding to the team.

Visit is step 1. Hope we can land him. Given his last stop would Pullman be much of a departure? Have to look at that.

He may be comfortable in an environment like Pullman. One has to look at the positives in every situation.

Any word on his visit?
He has verbally committed.

Excellent , a very nice pickup and a timely report.I am wearing my rose colored glasses but i see a team capable of a NIT bid. i believe that the cougs have enough talent o be a hard out even for the more talented teams in the PAC 12. I think that the raw talent is there, the coaches have to coach them and bring them together as a team

Kent has now recruited a grad transfer to his program. That was one of the biggest grips against his recruiting. Now Kent has 3 former juco players on his roster, one being a 4 to play 3 player. The rest of the squad are HS or Prep players . The rap of too many jucos no longer has validity. Bernsteine gives the team, front court experience and talent and allows Kent to have at least 2 scholarships for the 2018 recruiting year. Bernsteins is a very solid recruit and will play a big role on the team.Bernsteine is also a very consistent basketball player. I believe that he had 9 double doubles during the regular season. His physicality.experience, and consistency bodes well for the cougs

Great get! I am not expecting him to put up Hawkinson numbers but he should give us better defense, experience, and provide competition for Franks.

It took too long to make these kind of inroads but I'm glad it seems to be here.

Drick will be a starter on the team. Franks has potential but lacks consistency Franks is a large man and needs to learn how to bull his way around on the court. He seemingly wants to play more of a finesse game . Perhaps he will learn that paying against Drick in practice.Drick s experience may make him one of the leaders from day one. They did not play physical enough at times last year and let teams push them around.

Just about perfect under the circumstances. If some among Gittens, Acquaah, and Hinson can hit the ground running this could be a pretty good team. Bernstein gives us some nice rotation options up front

The cougs now have some good size and strength inside. They have Cooper ,6'11-240, Pollard 6'9 -240,Franks 6'7-250, Bernsteine 6'8-220 and Chidom 6'9-201 who can also swing to the 3 position. So the main fear that they will be weak, now looks like a potential corps of good inside players. I for one.am excited about the team next year.

I love this. Immediate contributor and just as important, he is done after this year. So, the Cougars still have open scholarships for Allen, Seltzer and Haskins to work their recruiting magic.

One knows that Drick does. not have world beater stats. However,I like that he is a"tough:" basketball player.By that, i mean he has an attitude of being aggressive and not taking any crap from other players. If anything the cougs were a 'soft": basketball team at times last year.. One or two players can change a team s attitude as their attitude tends to rub off. An attitude of if you beat us,"you will know that you have been in a game" attitude.I am hoping that Seltzer and Haskins also bring this to the coaching arena. The past coaches were knowledgeable coaches but lacked fire and intensity .If the coaches are fired up and let the players know this, most players will respond. I hope to see a different mind set from the team this year.

I think Dominguez and Graham are very good coaches. I think they would be excellent with an established program. But, I do not think having both of them on staff of a building program works...obviously. I do wish them luck ahead.

I agree that having Seltzer and Haskins may infuse aggressiveness and toughness to the program.

I was disappointing Kent went with both Dominguez and Graham. It's not that they are bad coaches but it wan't what we needed as 90 said for a rebuild. You need coaches that can find kids, connect with them and that are going to bust their @$$.

It will be interesting to see how the next recruiting cycle goes. It's not about suddenly getting a bunch of 4-star kids. We just need the right fit.

Very good pickup....and having that scholarship back for a new recruit the following season helps balance the classes better.

Glad Cougar

Just what the team needed is a good rebounder and a physical player with some leadership. Good job by the staff

Kent is getting closer to the athleticism required to run his system. It's going to be interesting seeing all these new faces.

He is getting close to having the athleticism to run ANY system. There is no style in college hoops that can win without athletes.

What i like about the players is that they have some good passers on the team I think that Flynn,Gittens,Chidom, Acquah, Bernsteine, and Pollard are very good passers. If the players adopt a defensive intensity and a sharing the ball philosophy, the wins will take care of themselves
